Today is a sad reminder
That these lives we have are short
The world as a place will never be kinder
And one day we all return to God's scared port

Whether you choose dark or light
Whether you choose heaven or hell
Never forget that this could be your last day or night
How long we have left, no one can truly tell

Never take your life for granted now or ever
And don't throw away love that's sincere
Love doesn't have an end but rather a forever
Don't question this with a single tear or any fear

Hold your love closer than any treasure or gold
And hold your friends just as close to your heart
They'll be the ones you still haven when you get old
And the ones who hold you together when you fall apart

So take this reminder as a lesson to learn
Continue to love others
And you will feel anew as the spring ferns
