Good point, but nobody knows the full strength of the nine tails just yet, it was in konoha for a few minutes and caused almost as much trouble as pain did, and i dont think the 9tails wudda stayed in the chibaku tensei idle, im sure it wudda done something. Even if pain stood a chance at capturing it, i think his chances wudda been very very slim... Say 10%

I cannot believe people are comparing his to tobi/nagato/edo madara.
The fact is the only people who could stand a chance against him, but still lose by a land slide are is two sons. His direct descendants who received his powers.
From what im reading people are basically saying if nagato/tobi/edo madara had the 10 tails sealed in them, they would aswell be able to create the moon. Ill tell you why those three are nothing compared to the sage.
Firstly all 3 have the rennigan, but neither have fully gained mastery of it and yet all 3 are more or less in the top3, if not deffo top5.
I believe the rennigan has way more abilities than what nagato should us and what he did show us wasnt that impressive in comparison to that of the sage. Same goes to tobi and edo madara.
The sage gaining mastery of the rennigan alone just shoots him up to a god, as i said consdiering the 3 rennigan user alive havent fully mastered it and they are easily the strongest ninja's. A lof of people would ask what do i mean by mastery. Firstly he alone has used the creation of all things technique. The funijutsu he used on the `10 tailed is more or less a rennigan tech. If he does use izanagi which he can, he wouldnt go blind. Until we see tobi,nagato and edo madara, being able to use all 7 elements at will then will i say they are gaining mastery of the rennigan
Now, i believe that if nagato fought the 9 tailed from the start he would win but barely. Now take into consideration that the 9 tails power has been halfed by minato. If its the full 9 tailed fox, i do not believe even nagato can beat it and this is just a portion of the 10 tailed.
Minato died sealing the 9 tails. 3rd raikage came up with a draw against the 8 tailed.
The sage fought, defeated and sealed the 10 tails. This alone is insane. If you at the fact that after sealing the 10 tails he should more or less be dead, but then he used chibaku tensei and selaed its body on the moon.
Also note that, i dont believe anybody can seal the 10 tails in their body. Imagine such chakra levels. How much can your body take, but also you have to gain control of its chakra at all times otherwise its will, will easily overpower your will and chakra. This also shows how much chakra the sage had.
If you add the legendary weapons he had which the gold and silve brothers had, should tell you that, even before becoming a jinchuricki he was a god. The fact that he sealed it in him and was not only alive but capable of controlling its power without losing control says its all.

IMO, It has close to 7 times more chakra.
Also has rinnegan and sharingan fused as an eye.
so it's physically 7 times and eye wise 10 times more powerful than kyuubi(we all know what sharingan and rinnegan can do, he had it fused).
It's a 7x10=70, but i would say at least 25 times more powerful than kyuubi.
Good points and also you forget that the sage also had a lifetime to prefect his mastery of the rinnegan, much longer then Tobi,Madara and Nagato.
But I don't think it's far fetched to compare pre juubi So6p to Madara,Tobi and Nagato bec he could have been really good with seals and could have been getting his ass kicked until he used a once in a chance life saving jutsu.
But So6P with juubi is on a whole another level way beyond any character in narutoverse.

Okay, not too bad, a little of an overestimation IMO, but still reasonable. I would say it is 7x more powerful, with additional occular powers, but its just an assumption, the only thing we can prove is that it is stronger than the kyuubi, but I will agree that yours is a fair assumption.

you have a point... but so6p had tremendous amount of chakra with yin yang ability , 10 tailed beast's jinchuriki and ethernal weapons... so i believe he is actually the god of naruto verse

Nagato to me similar is the older brother but a much weaker version. He had the sage's eyes and chakra but didnt have the body. Thats why he became extremely skinny and his red hair turned white, because his body couldnt handle it.
Tobi hasnt shown much, but he still hasnt gained mastery of the rennigan.
Edo madara seems 'complete' in the sense that he has both the sage's gift, but his power still pales that of the sage. He is basically what ill call a 'mini' sage at best.
If you take the sage's juubi and legendary weapons and he had to fight edo madara, nagato and tobi he will still beat them with ease in my eyes, simple because he has the most experience with the rennigan. He has truely mastered everything about it
Nagato was an Uzumaki so his natural property was the sages body and he descended from the younger brother so he def did have the sages body. The reason why his body turned skinny was bec he was powering the gedo mazo (I highly doubt that an Uchiha could do much less survive the process with their weak bodies). Also Nagato has shown to have the most stamina in a character seen so far in Naruto bec that is one of the things that come with the sages body. So in other words Nagato did have the sages body.
I do agree with you that the 2 sages kids could prop beat Nagato,Tobi and Madara.

The older son got the eyes and chakra. Thats exactly what nagato has.
As i said and its been said by tobi, he over over used his power and thats why we saw chances to his body. Forget he is from the uzumaki clan and just look at his abilities alone, he is extremely similar to the gifts the older son got.
Anyway as i said, neither tobi, edo madara or nagato are on either of the sage's sons level, let alone the sage himself

The man has the most stamina in the entire series shown in the narutoverse so far (besides maybe Naruto). n Uchiha gets tired after using susano for certain amount of time

Also nagato doesnt have the most chakra in the narutoverse. Kisame was said to have the most chakra in akatsuki and this was god realm talking. Also the 3rd raikage probably had more than him. Fighting 10000 ninja's for three days without a break. Also fighting the 8 tailed beast.
