There is not much room for naruto to grow, but plenty of room for sasuke to grow. All naruto can do is strengthen his jutsu and chakra control or learn new jutsu. Sasuke can learn sage mode and create his own lightning style mode like the raikage. So much room for sasuke.

Well yeah, this is what happens when you dont train for a good 200 chapters.

Well when you think about it, he never had time to train. He was busy with revenge. But really, he was able to train during these past 200 chapters, he would just be too powerful. In nearly every anime, It hard for a main character to keep up or be stronger than a lightning character. So Plot-no-jutsu had to slow sasuke down for naruto.

Sage Mode is the result of using natural energy along with a shinobi's normal chakra to drastically empower all of their abilities. So Sasuke just need to learn the basic. Don't need any of the snake jutsu stuff.
