There's a nice long river splitting the Ukraine into Eastern and Western halves, just turn it into a boundary and call it a day. Let the Ukrainians in the west have their way, the Ukrainians in the east get their way, the Russians keep their Crimea, and nobody goes to war. Win-Win-Win-Win.

Isn't everyone over reacting a bit? America asked for UN observers, it's not like they are deploying troops. The UN is a multinational society that is held in high esteem by the entire world.... They aren't going to be 'merica *****.
I must say though it's surprising to see Russia with such a show of force directly after the Olympics. I was starting to think they weren't as stern as people made out....guess not.

I would beg to differ. The USA may indeed be declineing as a super power, but we are still more powerful than any other nation.
We still have a much navy than they do and have quite a few aircraft carriers.
We still have argueably the best trained military currently(though I think it will change soon....with the lowering of standards)
The only thing I can think of that china may be able to best us at, is sheer numbers.
One day they will probably change, based on the current course of our nation(into the gutter(certainly financially))
I dont know if its true, but it is said that just ONE of our more modern aircraft carriers, has MORE firepower than ALL of ww2.
And we have several of them. China only has a couple(or maybe even none currently)
But regardless of whether what I said is correct or not. YOU VASTLY underestimate Americas power.
And the world can have MULTIPLE super powers.
