running in naruto

why do they run like that in naruto, with their arms sticking out. is it just easier for the animators to draw them like that instead of having to draw their arms swinging back in forth.

or is it just simply how they run?

As well if you do that you access a faster running speed. If you keep your arm balanced with the air then the air won't slow you down as much. So if you only allows the air/wind to only reach your shoulders, then you won't need to put so much power on keeping more power against the wind itself.
