You should definitely try it. If you have the time and want to learn how to play, then there is no better way to do that than to start playing. That's how I started anyway ^^

Yes, you should play even if it is your first time playing. You can learn more by playing than by watching. Also, we have a shortage of players so I see no reason why you should not play.
