Rōnin (浪人) hail from Tobusekai. Like their Samurai counterparts, very little is known about them; they were led by Oisha following Asano’s affliction with the Red Fever. Oisha’s experiments alienate much of the Rōnin after his intentions are revealed to the group by Ishijo, leading to Ishijo’s defection and Oisha’s disappearance in Tobusekai. The group now functions as leaderless swordsmen, stationed at the Dark Tower where they operate a competition similar to the Witchwood Arena near Last Bastion. Like Samurai, they are armed with swords. But rather than inflicting physical damage on their opponents, their abilities revolve around the spiritual. Rōnin are able to strike spiritual targets as well as an opponent’s soul directly through their unique Spiritual Kenjutsu.

- Rōnin have access to a special form of spiritual Kenjutsu, known as Rōnin Kenjutsu, which does not inflict physical damage; rather, they strike at spiritual energy and inflict spiritual damage, ranging in severing flow of spiritual energy to sealing the soul via strike.
- A Rōnin’s body is attuned to spiritual fields, having the ability to use a Spiritual variant of Iaido.
- Rōnin Kenjutsu has the ability to severe spiritual energy flow through targets, restricting proper chakra flow and limited paralysis. This allows it to cause targets to have an inability to move parts of their body for varying periods.
- Ronin gain an increase of +1 Bonus DEX and +1 Bonus SPRT AP unless they are using Dual Abilities, in which case the ability with the highest AP boosts will apply.
- Rōnin can make use of any of the Modes. Rōnin additionally gain access to Dokkodo techniques without requiring the Mode to be chosen. However, they do not gain access to the Alone Way nor Blinding Light unless they have Dokkodo as their chosen Mode.
- Rōnin are Spiritual Sensors, much like Yamanaka, possessing a form of spiritual awareness that grants the ability to detect spiritual techniques, like Yin Release: Hands of Sloth. This also extends to detecting the souls of living beings. This, however, does not grant a tracking increase.
Restrictions:
- A Rōnin biography can only use Spiritual Kenjutsu, Kenjutsu, and Taijutsu fields. Rōnin can also make use of Yin Release.
- A Rōnin may have a Mode alongside being a Cyborg, using techniques they reasonably can access. They, however, cannot have a KG/AE/HA.
- Must be at least Chūnin rank and have 5,000 Kumi.
