[Discussion] Romance in OP/Pairings

We've all heard the Oda said there would be no romance in the series argument (or something to taht effect, I forget the exact details). And OP being a Shounen manga I do agree what most ppl would call romance wont ever happen. But ppl take it to spam the pairings threads over the web, i usually skip the threads, but from time to time I check some out and usually the first post is this exact argument. I admit I would like to eventually see some more affection between some characters (NaLu to be honest, always liked them as a pair when I was a kid, I just think they make a great pair and have a lot of intimacy and contact that most other characters dont have, been holding on it ever since, there are others ...).

Its not really a valid arguments seeing how affection and some level of intimacy has already been shown all throughout the series.

But there is a more important point I wanna make:
- Was DBZ something that you would call romantic?
- Did DBZ have pairings?
- Get it?

Any thoughts?

Zoro x Tashigi would be pretty cool. I am a fan of Luffy x Hancock, but that's just me.

I'm a LuffyxHancock fan personally due to how much Hancock has done for Luffy.

I don't really like LuffyxNami due to them being crewmates and it'd ruin the whole bond the crew have with each other, personally I hope if Oda does pairings eventually none of the strawhats are together with one another.

Except nalu there is no real pair amongst the sh, robin is the second girl but i just cant see her with anyone from the crew

Luffy was once stated to be asexual, so I doubt he'll be involved in any romance. Though if I had to choose a pair, it would be Zoro and Tashigi.

Honestly I don't think Luffy will actually be paired with anyone NaLu to me just doesn't seem right in the end, as both Luffy and Nami are pirates with bounties so they'll never really be safe from marines unless they go into hiding.

However I can imagine that Luffy will have a similar fate to Roger and will die not of old age but because of his body and everything that's he's done to it. Iva injecting him with hormones cost him 20 years of his life and every time he uses Gear 2nd he also damages his body shortening his life span.

So ultimately he will most likely complete everything that he has to do (Become Pirate King, Do something about the world government etc) and after all this if you include the fact he'll be using Gear 2nd a lot more he won't really have that long to live.

So I think he might spend a few years at Maiden Island and have a brief romance with Hancock leaving a child before either dying due to his body or handing himself in to the Marines.
