And as for his feats until now they are pretty much the ones that everybody remembers. Pirate King,the Edd War, only man to conquer the Grand Line.
Although wiping out an army i'm sure many could do such as Newgate, Garp, Rayleigh, Shanks, Linlin, Sakazuki etc.

he went on to find the one piece and become the Pirate king, AFTER he found out he was Ill, he went to look for Crocus and Sail to conquer the Grand line.

well, the fact that Garp is mentioning it, it probably was a Strong country, not a fodder one.
