We are talking about the present gaara who is currently fighting sage Madara.
And rock lee who is also fighting sage Madara

So who would win
Gaara uses sand tsunami...but would lee already kick gaara before gaara has a chance to use it?

5m are you serious? do you know how small 5m is? And he's in 5th gates you literally gave him the match.

Lee just showed us some insane speed feet able to jump in, grab guy and jump away before madara's orb hit. then move away faster than the orb could move. And, that wasn't even 7th gate.

Gaara can't keep up at all with that speed, it will be a repeat of chunnin exams. If, by this point, lee has become as adept as guy and can pop high level gates multiple times, gaara's gonna go down.

Lee loses, badly.
Not only does the current Gaara have more control over the sand, but Lee just finished fighting while in the 5th Gate.
As we know, Lee's Gate stamina is really low compared to Gai.
Plus, since he just beat Kabuto, there's a chance he might've been Poisoned.
The first time they fought, Gaara was to reliant on Shukaku's defensive sand.
Now, Gaara is more careful, as he's the one that controls it.

Well if he's 5 m away then Lee might just win. Gaara's sand blocked a kick from V2 Raikage though so in most cases, I give it to Gaara but Lee losing to Gaara isn't a bad look at all.
