There was no reason. Kishi probably wasn't thinking on this one. It doesn't matter that rock lee was covered in the cloak. Madara himself is stronger than Karama. A small fraction of Karama shouldn't have any effect. Sometimes Kishi does stuff that doesn't make sense. Remember when Onoki survived being crushed by a dinosaur killer?

I bijuu's power is never as strong as when it is focused by a jinchuriki because the bijuu is just an animal using its instincts, whereas a jinchuriki knows how to use its power wisely.

But Madara was able to take on fully transformed killer bee, fully transformed naruto, and 7th gate guy.

wait what? since when was madara physically stronger than kurama? and when was he impervious to taijutsu? at that moment in time, lee was faster than madara's perception and got there before he could do anything. even if he saw him, im sure his thought process wasn't right there with his eyes. and even if it was, his arrogance to think that lee was just a slouch with a cloak proved to be wrong, as lee cut through him. now that i think about it, how durable can an edo be? i mean, they last forever, but aren't they made up of paper?

Simple rock lee is awesome. Madara wasn't quick enough. vs A he had susanoo before A got to the battle if he didn't A wouldve wrecked him too and Guy hasntreally went up againt Madara other than the one time Hirudora that smashed susano
