I think Lee taijutsu got so good he might be able to peacock with out gates in other gate stuff, or he be able to use it with out the side affects he found a way to improve on it,also is it possible the Lee has senju DNA all of Lee power ups have been body like naruto and neji have been eyes like sasuke. they even had the rivalry going on like sasuke and naruto
Maybe there another showing the battle between the eyes and body.

Not only do I agree with the OP I also would like to add that I think Rock Lee is getting a new Power up beyond his 8gates.He will show that Guy taught him a Variation of the FTG
