That's not a story that could fill over 600 chapters.
A story about a kid who only uses Taijutsu would only last several chapters and would get boring extremely fast. People can only deal with a guy that only punches people for so long.
Plus Rock Lee is too ridiculous, his character is a joke, he is a parody of Bruce Lee.
This is an action manga not a comedy.
Plus a person can't stay at the bottom forever, you say that the manga is getting bland because everyone believes in Naruto now, what did you think was going to happen, Naruto made it clear that his goal was for everyone to look up to him and be the best of all in the end.
That was established chapter 1, this was going to happen eventually.
That's is just story progression and development, if Naruto didn't rise to the top then really whats the story.
And if Gaara was the main character he would just be an emotionless version of Naruto, he has the same kind of story.
Didn't I said that Lee could also learn other technique instead of just Taijutsu but without using Ninjutsu and Genjutsu???
There will always be change up occurs for Lee along the story, like for example Naruto dream is to become a hokage, then later on his goal is to bring Sasuke back to the village. After pain arc, Naruto found his new destiny and his new goal is bring peace and to change the Ninja System.
Don't think I'd be stupid enough that the whole theme about Taijutsu would last 600+ chapters.
You are misunderstanding Lee perspective view. Lee isn't much of a comical character, just because you've read Naruto SD don't think Lee is too comedic in the Naruto series. He had many serious moments in Naruto believe it or not.
Take a look at the moment when he confronted Gaara, or training against Neji in trying to surpass him, or fighting against Kimmimaro ( At the Side note, Lee was comical when he was drunk state, but still after the effect are gone, he became serious).
Lee was serious during the rescue Kazekage Arc, or during Pain Arc, and even War arc.
The only time he's comical is when he's training with Gai.
Luffy is a main character and he's way more comical than Lee is , so your argument is invalid.
What I meant is that People relied on Naruto too Much and that Naruto was able to deliver the job all by himself .
Its clear that Naruto wants everyone to acknowledge him but his main role pretty much finished for the last 250+ chapters and this keeps drag on to the point where it gets bland. I was expecting at the very last arc where Naruto finally get acknowledge in becoming a savior of the world at the verge of Juubito Death.
Take a look at Bleach, Ichigo finally gain everyone trust and looked up to him as a hero but that doesn't mean everyone rely on Ichigo strength . Everyone is doing their own thing in order to defeat the quinces, they all got screen time.
Do people really think Rock Lee would turn out any different from Naruto if he was the main character?
Get real, the only reason things look that way is BECAUSE they are not focused on. Any narrative starts to convoluted itself after a while, and characterization points get dropped or get hampered. Natural writing process for a 14 year long series.
Any character with a shred of focus in this series is controversial because of Kishi's unique perspective and writing style.
You're wrong, most Shonen series tend to focus everyone screen time such as Yu Yu Hakusho, OnePiece, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, Magi, FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood, etc.
What's the point for Kishi to bring his old characters in Shippuden when he kept on making new characters, but never even utilize them???
These characters has so much potential in these series and they're relevant for vasts majority of time but in part 2, they got neglected.
Temari, or he could've even let Tayuya live and become his rival.
Heck, maybe he could alter the storyline and make Shino his rival.
Personally though, if we're going to replace Naruto, why not use Obito? Then Naruto could be the evil one lol.
Imagine a good Obito and Kakashi vs a bad version of Naruto and Sasuke
Well Shikamaru doesn't really look up to Temari as his rival, he doesn't really like to compete anyone. But maybe when he finally found his purpose, things will change up.
