Chapter 4: Awakened by fury
I stood facing the horizon. The sun was beginning to rise into the sky. Light shone for miles as shadows creaped across the ground. I stood with sword at my side and armor on my body. Kurama watched from afar.
It was still. The animals were quiet. The world was at peace. Until the sound began to resonate across the ground. The thunderous pace of hooves meeting dirt. The shadows grew larger as I could see them over the horizon. Five men atop horses, galoping closer and closer to me.
They stopped in a line in front of me. The dismounted their horses. The four peons stood back as the decorated leader of the party took a step forward and matched my glare. We stood for a moment. Staring at each other, barely breathing, waiting to see which would buckle under the will of the other. I held my ground for I could not turn back now.
"You are the boy from the other day. I remember seeing you. Is this some kind of joke? Does Kurama realy expect me to believe that he would send a child in his stead, let alone a miserable orphan peasant? He is not only a disgrace, but he has defied Bushido in teaching a non-Samurai the way of the warrior. Move aside welp," Sasuke said to me at last. I held my ground against the man who was only about an inch taller then me. "I have no time to soil my blade with your end trails," he said in a frustrated tone. He took a step to the side, trying to get around me, but I side stepped and cut him off.
"You will walk no further," I announced. "You will not hurt one hair on her head!"
"And who is to stop me? You?" He asked sarcasticly as he grabbed the hilt of his blade. I too grabbed the hilt of my blade.
"Perhaps I will," I said as I began to draw the blade. The man stepped back and drew his sword.
"This will be far to easy," he said as he lifted his sword into the air and prepared a downward slice. I pulled my blade out, striking the man hard in the shoulder with the butt of my hilt. He was thrown off balance and I drew the blade and performed a horizontal cut. He spun his sword around, parrying my strike and causing me to miss. He moved to attack, but was stopped when his blade met mine. Our swords crossed and we pushed against each other, each trying to see who could outpower the other.
My body and mind were in sinc. My body moved the instant I had a thought. My reflexes were at their hight. I could feel the strange energy flowing through me. I pushed the man back with an unknown streangth. But I was too engaged to think about what had happened. I moved to strike. The man dropped low, kicking out my leg and sending me sprawling to the ground. He raised his sword into the air and prepared to finish me. I spun my hips and with a mighty kick, struck him in the wrist and sent his weapon flying into the nearby river.
Using the momentum of my legs, I returned to my feet. Sasuke stood back, reaching behind him to draw his wakasashi sword. I resheathed my Katana at my hip and drew my smaller companion sword, not wanting to give my oponent the advantage of a more manuverable weapon. Again we charged at each other. With each clash we made moves to attack the other, only to be blocked and countered. As we were locked together, he used his other hand to mercilously punch me in the gut, trying to get me to budge. I tightened my abdomen, enduring each punch and throwing him off balance with my streangth. Sasuke landed hard on him back, his blade falling to the ground near him. I stood above him.
Before I could react, I felt a painful sensation in my face as a small black knife flew passed my face, cutting my cheek and a portion of my hair and embedding itself into the tree behind me. Sasuke took advantage of the oprotunity to kick me hard in the knee. I tumbled to the ground as my leg buckled. My sword falling to the ground.
Sasuke stood up. He went to my side and took my katana out of it's sheath. He held the tip to my throat.
"Not bad kid, that was almost entertaining. I am still contemplating whether or not to kill you. Maybe if you beg for me to spare you," he said as I spat in his face. He wiped his face and looked at me before raising my sword. "Wrong move" He began his strike but missed on purpose as a horn blew behind him. He turned around to see five other men on horses.
"Sir, you were right. They hid the girl at the hut. We have her in our possesion," one of the new samurai said. Uzima was draped over the horse. Her arms were tied behind her and her mouth was gagged. She tried to scream but was then struck over the head by the man who drove the horse.
"UZIMA!!!" I screamed.
"Ah, do you like this girl? Is this why you wanted to play samurai? To save her? In that case I will let you live, only so you can sit in misery, knowing that you failed her,"said Sasuke. He put my sword into his sheath and turned his back to me. I felt my body getting hot. The hate I had for those men began to burn deep inside me. The strange energy flowed through my body. But this time it was different. I could feel a deep melevolance to this energy. The scar on my back was flaring in pain. I jumped up to my feet and screamed. I took in a deep breath. My body was acting on it's own and I was just following it. I quickely breathed out and a massive fireball came out. Sasuke turned around and was quickely consumed in the inferno. He jumped out and rolled in the dust, matting the flames. He stood up, amayzed and held out the sword. I quickely held out my hands as lightning arched to the blade and electrocuted the man. He dropped the weapon and tried running away. I stomped my foot and he was suddenly trapped in a massive mud pool. I took in another breath as I felt my throat getting wet. I shot out a high preasure water blast that cut off Sasuke's right arm. He screamed in pain. I waved my hand as a blade of wind flew at him and his other arm fell to the ground.
The five samurai that had Uzima had ridden off after I shot the fireball. The other four grabbed Sasuke and ran off. I moved to run after them but I was stopped by the voice of Kurama. I turned around to see him and Son Goku standing behind me. Both amayzed and confused.
"It seems we have a lot to talk about," Son Goku said, staring at me as if he had seen a ghost. I too was amayzed and confused. I was not sure of what happened.
"Tengen..." Kurama began before getting quiet. I felt blood dripping down my face.
"Tengen... your eyes...those black rings. Tengen, your eyes changed," Son Goku said before I ran to the river to see my reflection.
