RIP Hugo Chavez

Hugo Chavez, the polarizing president of Venezuela who cast himself as a "21st century socialist" and foe of the United States, died at the age of 58 on Tuesday after having a long battle with cancer.

Chavez's democratic ascent to the presidency in 1999 ushered in a new era in Venezuelan politics and its international relations. Once a foiled coup-plotter, the swashbuckling former paratrooper was known for lengthy speeches on everything from the evils of capitalism to the proper way to conserve water while showering. He was the first of a wave of leftist presidents to come to power in Latin America in the last dozen years.

As the most vocal U.S. adversary in the region, he influenced other leaders to take a similar stance.

But the last months of Chavez' life were marked by an uncharacteristic silence as his health condition became "complicated," in the words of his government. Chavez underwent a fourth surgery on December 11 in Cuba, and was not publicly seen again. A handful of pictures released in February were the last images the public had of their president.

First off, Chavez doesn't need any accent.Secondly, he was a populist corrupt Venezuelan politician that has been re-electing him self for years (probably his dream was to rule Venezuela for ever :l What an idiot. He even had the elections to be done online...do you know how easy would be to match the IDs with the votes, hum?).
And finally, even tho he was agains USA, he still sold them oil, which means he was just words. Venezuela's economy was based on the oil sales and he didn't do a $hit to strengthen their market and seek other sources of ingress. That guy was a clown.

I don't know much about him myself, but I know he was a good person. He wasn't "friend" of the USA, and the USA don't really want people that are not in their side sen well around the world, so don't let the media to deceive you!

He was a president but had a humble life, gave many millions of petrol/crude oil to poor people in Venezuela and even USA to help them, Venezuela stayed moderately poor but many poor people were helped and always liked him...

Conspiracy : Isn't it odd that him and the argentina leader got cancer at the same time? Two leaders that have a powerful nation and are not in the USA side (which doesn't mean they are evil)... hmmmm
