So after Kakashi used Chidori for the first time against an enemy nin in the war, Minato told him not to use it again.
If Kakashi had followed Minato's advice, he wouldn't have hit Rin with his chidori. :shrug:
Minato mentioned that Kakashi would be unable to see the enemy's counter; it works both ways. He was too quick with his jutsu and was unable to see who he was targeting...
So this could have been avoided if people listened to their senseis more.... Wise sensei...

I do really wonder why he used that jutsu again against his sensei's orders though...
