I don't recall this being stated. Only that "a Rinnegan can cancel genjutsu from another Rinnegan", meaning any Rinnegan could.

Unless otherwise stated, there's nothing special about Sasuke's Rinnegan except it's appearance.
Why is the reflection of the genjutsu of IT not the "rinnegan" reflection instead of a regular one like sasuke's genjutsu? Sasuke eye is similar to the Juubi's, but not the same, close enough. But the IT people reflection was a regular rinnegan. By your logic the genjutsu would of canceled itself...
Also if any rinnegan can cancel any genjutsu then why is one rinnegan is required to create it? That's like saying just because a random uchiha has 3 tomoe he can cancel Itachi's genjutsu.

Every rinnegan has the six paths technoqe, every rinngan has genjutsu but not every user can use it and S/T is sasuke's special rinngan ability just like madara's limbo
How is sasuke ability is special if Kaguya also has it :3? Its only a similarity thing, but still different. The only eye we know is the same as sasuke's is the yin yang one Obito was talking about with Konan.

No, that's not what I'm saying

I said, and I quote,
What difference does it make? It's still just an unofficial term. Who cares what it's called? As long as people know what is being talked about

As long as others know, it's fine. And it's a shame if, for this specific case, you can't reasonably figure out that "RinneSharingan" or "Sharinnegan" is talking about Sasuke's left eye
Sharinnegan is a incomplete name.

Sharingan is "Mirror Wheel Eye " in English,And Rinne is "Samsara" - so "Gan" must mean "Eye".

Saying "Sharrinnegan" is like saying - "Mirror Samsara's Eye" - the correct name would be,"SharinRinnegan" - "Mirror Wheel Samsara's Eye".

Madara was actually talking about the Sharingan there, not the Rinnegan. Earlier on he said Sasuke's Mangekyo was a "straight tomoe" just like his.
I think you are right.
Pretty sure that it's translation error, what chapter is that I amma go find the viz (if I can) or it's just that madra talking about sasuke'a ems since he had the tomoe.
And no it's not a mix, it's just that his ens sharingan is still active (he can still use it)

Bruh, the only reason sasuke wasn't effected by IT IS because he has rinngan and he cab cancel any other rinngan genjutsu ao does madara, nagato , hagoromo and everyone that has rinngan, sasuke just confirmed it
That doesn't explain Naruto and the rest not getting caught in IT if that's true, and we know eyes don't entirely connect to the susanoo..anyways

Ultimately its called the rinnegan because it favors the moves...however one thing that does make his "rinnegan" more special is that he can switch it on and off like a sharingan.

.
The "Rinnegan" effect in people's eyes from IT was from them being caught in the genjutsu. They didn't actually have a Rinnegan that they could use... :/

Sasuke using sharingan power is because he has his other sharingan eye , and yeah people can come up with names but they shouldn't act like it's anything Better than rinngan
It is better than the Rinnegan. The Rinnegan has no Genjutsu feats - why? Because it's deosn't have the Sharingan powers.

The normal Rinnegan deosn't have all the Sharingan's powers (not talking about KA,and Kamui which are unique to only the user.)While the RinneSharingan deos.

Here,Sasuke is using Amaterasu with his RinneSharingan eye.

Are you saying people don't recognize that Sasuke's left eye is being discussed in a conversation if somebody refers to it as "RinneSharingan" or "Sharinnegan", or something similar?
Considering the third eye is actually named "Rinne Sharingan" it could cause confusion.

Sasuke's eye is just a Rinnegan, with tomoe. It isn't the Rinne Sharingan or the Juubi's eye.
