Rinnengan would be a waste for Sasuke

As we know there are more circumstances that favor Sasuke getting Rinnengan than not, but honestly it feels like a waste if he does. I mean look at it. I mean Sasuke's eyes have been praised for their strength and potential since part 1. Though their development has been somewhat unique it has been no where near living up to its hype
Look at all the hype Kishi has pushed.
Part 1
Potential to surpass Itachi
Chakra strong enough to scare Kabuto as a child
Part 2
chakra like Madara's
Eyes skilled enough to break through tsukuyomi
Potential to surpass Nagato
Potential to Madara Uchiha

Kishi gave Sasuke a MS with a reversed appearance unlike any other in the series and even went so far as to NAME THE PARTICULAR SHARINGAN.

Now I know that the Rinnengan is currently the most OP doujutsu, but doesnt having Sasuke with this much hype and detail just to follow the natural progression of the sharingan sound like a huge waste?

I Dont think sasuke will get the rinnegan. It said the he reminded hashirama of izuna. I think it was because he got stabbed through the chest and is going to die.

I actually agree, turning Sasuke into a Madara clone would be rather boring, plus when he and Naruto fight it will turn into Naruto vs Madara Jr rather then Naruto vs Sasuke.

Well, its obvious that Kishimoto is making the Hashirama/Madara scenario in reverse, they are both being compared to the grates, Naruto by Tobirama, and Sasuke by Orochimaru. What I see as a possible next step, is them both getting upgrades...be that Naruto becoming the Juubi Jinchuriki or not, or Sasuke getting the Rinnegan. Both scenarios are plausible, I'm not saying that is what I think, because Kishimoto has made me sceptical over the years. Bottom line, its more than obvious that Naruto and Sasukes roles are to repair the mistakes that their predecessors made...
