[Spoilers] Rinnengan and EMS are of different evolution paths

I don't understand why people don't get this... it has been explained throughout the Manga and Anime.

The Sharingan evolves into the Mangekyō Sharingan for a member of the Uchiha clan when the user kills their closest friend. As far as the unique situation for Kakashi, it has yet to be explained how he obtains the Mangekyō. Because Kakashi is not of the Uchiha clan he must have found a way to evolve it by other means.

EMS (Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan) is obtained by taking the eye or eyes of another Mangekyō Sharingan wielder and implanting them into the body of an Uchiha clan member.

The Rinnegan is the original form of Kekkei Genkai possessed by the Sage of 6 Paths. It has not been explained how he had obtained them at least not specifically. My assumption is that he awakened them as one would with the Sharingan. Nagato was said to have the Rinnegan given to him by Tobi. Although I believe Tobi manipulated a situation forcing Nagato to awaken them, Nagato is of the Uzumaki clan and has genetic relation to the Sage of 6 Paths so it is possible for him to naturally awaken the Rinnegan.

It has been implied that Madara Uchiha had evolved his EMS into the Rinnegan, but this has yet to be explained in detail as well. It could be possible for the Mangekyō to evolve to the Rinnegan meaning the EMS would not be needed to do so but again this hasn't been explained in detail yet.

The Rinnegan can be obtained through evolution of the Sharingan or awakened. It all depends on the genetics of the person in question.

The only way you get rinnegan is having not Uchicha and Senju DNA so it's not related to EMS or MS at all. Therefore this is a fairly invalid thread......

That's my point exactly people are all over the forums arguing about this. Seems pretty obvious to me at this point.

Such as Nagato couldn't use Sharingan or Mangekyō because he never had them to begin with.

umm im pretty sure nagato naver had ms or ems, for that matter he never toke his rennigan off so it was given to him cuz it always remained active. and the rennigan isnt actually the original eyes it a sightly different form but still bascily the same thing original eyes were a swirly type pattern and not a ringed pupil

one question i always had with the eye evolution, was that the databooks clearly explain that the sharingan was a branch off of the byakugan and the uchiha are a branch off of the hyuuga clan. Among my questions on it, the most prominent is how could a watered down branch turn into the sharingan which is clearly superior to the byakugan even though according to the books, byakugan is closer to rinnegan.
