He even read a book on how to create screenplay before writing the screenplay for the movie. Everything that occurs in the movie was directly written and approved by Masashi Kishimoto, who also co-directed the movie alongside Hiroyuki Yamashita. I don't know the details on how involved Ikemoto was with the movie itself, but I think you're misconstruing Masashi handing over control of the movie with Masashi handing over control of the manga/anime. If you refuse to believe this, then I can't help you. You can proceed to make whatever offhanded comment you want, but it isn't going to make you any less wrong ​
