While I don't support evolution one bit, this is somewhat similar to the analogy. If something evolves it's a transformation. It loses it's former features in most cases, and I think you took the "rinnegan is upgraded sharingan" thing too literally.

Yes, he knew that it's from someone else's, but it felt like he was born with it, since he was young when he received it. Obito told him this when he was a young adult, right? Maybe it didn't matter anymore, like someone telling you, "I am your father." No, kidding, that's the other way around. Haha.

pretty sure susano is only possible to sellected MS users and not every MS user can do it. Nagato probably didn't even know the rinnegan is the final version of the sharingan so he probably didn't bother with jutsus that can only be done with uchiha eyes(which he thought he didn't have). Not to mention Nagato was hardly in control of his rinnegan.

nope madara gave the eye without him noticing + why would he need to perform an uchiha jutsu. Nagato is the only 1 that can preserve or develop the rinengan eye bcos he has life energy
