Did Kaguya possess rinnegan first or was it Shinju???

Well technically the Shinju was the first being and it does have the eye so it should be the first wielder of the Rinnegen/Sharingan eye.

I don't know about that. The Shinju was a tree worshiped by many people, when first mention. After, Kaguya took its fruit and cast Infinite Tsukuyomi and later, taken down by the Sage of Six Paths and his Borther, she manifests into the Ten-tails (Juubi). The Shinju was said to be combine with Kaguya's will. I assume the Shinju gains its power by Kaguya. How I interpreted by Black Zetsu.

She probably was the first after she ate the fruit. There was a theory that, Kagaya's tomoe rinnegan diluted down into the purple rinnegan that Hagoromo has and her byakugan went to Hamura.

What in the world are you talking about. She did have rinnegan, but in her forehead. I guess when Hagoromo said she had sharingan, she could go back and forth between byakugan and sharingan. That's what I think.

No, Hagoromo called it a Sharingan. Madara might have mistaken Sauske's Left eye as a Rinnegan.
