Still not seeing a manga scan stating that Ashura's reincarnate can handle Indra's chakra. Never heard of an Ashura incarnate achieving rinnegan either. I'll ignore the Momoshiki thing because of one major fact. He's a male version of Kaguya and no background was given as to how male ootsutsuki's gain power.

rinnegan is a Sharingan evolution, and this is mentioned in the manga
unless you don't believe the manga
sharingan needs hagoromo's chakra to evolve
just like byakugan, it needs otsutsuki's chakra to evolve and become tenseigan

no...the mangekyo sharingan is a sharingan evolution...the rinnegan is a separate dojutsu (hence it being one of the 3 great dojutsu of the manga with byakugan and sharingan)...the thing is you can evolve the sharingan with the original owner's chakra (hagoromo) just like you can progress the byakugan into tenseigan with hamura's chakra

You need the eyes of Indra's reincarnation that's why Naruto didn't awaken the Rinnegan.

Rennigan isn't a Sharingan evolution lol. Sharingan's peak is EMS. Ashura incarnates ei non-Sharingan users can also obtain Rennigan.

Rennigan is an eye power granted by the Chakra Fruit. Sharingan is also an eye power granted by the Chakra fruit.

Kaguya simply manifested both eyes in the same eyeball, while Momoshiki manifested only Rennigan.

Anyways, Tenseigan > Rennigan.

Rinnegan has nothing to do with sharingan. It's exclusive otsutsuki eye.

The only uchiha to get it were Indra Otsutsuki incarnates from making Hagaromo chakra.

Sharingan evolution stops at MS.
EMS is a modification and Rinnegan is a separate eye entirely

if indra incarnate with weaker body can handled the Ashura incarnate chakra
then with stronger body Ashura incarnate should be able handled indra chakra

Indra DNA + Indra Chakra + Ashura DNA + Ashura Chakra = Rinnegan
Sasuke : had Indra DNA and chakra , Ashura's chakra was given to him through Hagoromo , And Kabuto healed him using Hashirama's cells (Ashura DNA)
Madara : had Indra DNA and Indra Chakra , He stole Hashirama's DNA , And after years Hashirama's DNA produced Ashura's chakra .
