RIN???? Unrivalled Influence????

I've been giving it some thought and I was wondering has their ever been any character to influence a story/manga so much whilst NEVER BEING ALIVE IN PRESENT TIME. I don't mean like someone whose left a treasure in the past causing people to be pirates etc. Im talking about WARS being started because of that character. You can say this war was started for I.T but im just saying the man who pushed forward Madara's/Kaguya's idea was Obito and all that was in his mind was Rin. Therefore its fair to say she was a fundamental part of the war. Yet she was never alive.. Its harsh but you could attribute all the fodder ninja,jiraiya, neji, minato and kushina's deaths to her because if she hadn't died Obito would have never done all those deeds.

I've obviously not read every manga so please don't bash me if their have been characters more influential than her.
