Dont really know why people are thinking deeply and trying to make theories out of nothing.

During the war, the mist ninjas was to kidnap a shinobi and make the person into the sanbi jin, so the person could be taken back to Konoha and the sanbi unleashed. Rin happened to be the 1st fodder they laid hands on and captured her.
Their was no specific choice there because anyone can host any other bijuu except the kurama. Their was no way they would risk their lives going to the leaf and taking someone there do they waited around the battle area and found Rin.

Nothing complex about this, it was just a co-incidence that it was Rin or will I say.....PNJ.

I wonder where the whole incident takes place on the timeline. It seems like it was within time of the 2nd war, right? (sorry dont know my wars in narutoverse)

This exactly, it's like everytime they get an explanation they want more, we don't need to know anything more about rin her purpose to obito and kakashis plot has been fullfilled. If we found out she had some special thing to her ideal to a Jin next they would want to know what clan shes from and next they will be linking her to the so6p XD People just need to accept we don't need to know every backstory

I agree that there was nothing special about Rin. Rather, the Mist Village wanted Rin to return to the Leaf Village for the Three Tail to be released within the village. They only were pretending to resist Kakashi during her rescue. They didn't need Rin to live for very long, but just live long enough to make it back to the Leaf Village.

You are incorrect about the host requirements for the tailed beasts. The host must be compatible with the beast. Otherwise they will eventually reject the tailed beast, and the beast will be unleashed. If you need confirmation, look back at Gaara's birth and Bee's selection as the Eight Tails Jinchuriki. Kankuro and Temari were both incompatible with Shukaku, and the host before Bee died because of his incompatibility.

Yeah, I know about the compatibility stuff, what I meant was the clan specifications. Some crazy guys say Rin is an Uzumaki or have its lineage since she was chosen to host Isobu.

I agree. It is likely that she was taken due to Kakashi being her only partner, with Obito gone and Minato as Hokage. It was never said that they had a spare team member.
