Ok so we've been comparing team minato (rin,kakashi,obito) to team kakashi (sasuke,naruto,sakura) and while there are many similarities between their personalities and skill level most of us have made the assumption that generally:
sasuke=kakashi
naruto=obito
and finally...
rin=sakura
Im calling this assumption into question. Although sakura and rin were both medical ninjua I dont belive they possessed the same jutsus, skill, bloodline.. what I'm trying to say is that we dont know where Rin came from, and there is something in this mystery that makes her valuable to the mist. Many people think she's a spy, but that's kabuto's story.. been there, done that. It must be something more interesting, I think she possessed some type of unique jutsu that made her a target.
On the other hand there's the idea that madara manipulated it all, that hasnt proven to be the case yet. No one is a zetsu clone (although my avatar suggests otherwise) and its highly unlikely that this is mass genjutsu, madara is much too weak for that. maybe something about the mizukage idk.

Some one in the prediction thread had a pretty good jinchuuriki theory that made sense
Rin jinchuuriki > rin dies > kurama attacks village > kurama sealed inside naruto
