he passed it down to his younger son but his younger son only had a yang chakra;the seal with only yang(fire)=fire seal;and eventually the uzumaki's only knew how to perform the seal,Kushina taught it to minato.

Minato didn't use the eight tri-gram seal to combine his chakra with yin kurama neither did he have time to separate the mind from the chakra;if he uses kurama's chakra he should look like kinkaku and ginkaku

Minato is a senju and has a strong yang chakra, but only as strong as naruto has when naruto's chakra is mixed with bijuu chakra mode naruto, and used the Fire seal;that's why he hasn't used chakra arms for his missing arm.
Hashi represents the younger son and has as much chakra as naruto and kuramas chakra,if he does the Fire seal he will have the same form as bijuu mode naruto.

in the last manga when minato went into bijuu mode his appearance didn't change like naruto's did, the only change was his eyes,that's because his chakra isn't combined with kurama's yin chakra

Minato has the first form that naruto gets with kuramas yang,but he's responsible for naruto having the second form naruto gets in bijuu mode
Itachi has ms but his eyes are responsible for sasuke having ems

Nice theory , IMO the seal minato used is the same as the sage of six paths , also I think that the sage created his two sons but remember the jubbi was inside of the sage so the two sons were influenced by the yin and yan of the jubbi and the sage ...Tobirama explains the sharingan and that chakra he was talking about is most likely the influence of the jubbi. But to get back to the uzumaki's they passed down the sealing techs of the sage which begs to question was the sage an uzumaki? Who knows ???

i think it's the same seal also but i don't think the sage created his sons
they didn't inherit yang chakra or yin chakra
chakra is made from combining spiritual energies and physical energies

the younger son only inherited the physical energies not spiritual energies so his chakra signature was strong physical energies plus weak spiritual energies making him have a yang chakra
the elder son had strong spiritual plus weak physical energies making him have a yin chakra
the sage didn't have a yang or yin chakra he had strong physical and spiritual energies making him have a strong chakra

and sasuke's chakra starts to resemble genjutsu when he uses susano'o
