i was just wondering because a common misconception these days is that almost all of domestic violence is caused by men and how in the eyes of society and the media women punching a man is not as bad as the opposite

Anyone who punches a lover is scum, self-defence also rarely goes straight to decking a girl lol- this argument is a cheap justification that proves nothing other than that some people look for any excuse to domestically abuse and suck at self-defence.

Been in this situation before and pushing someone to the ground is a lot more effective and less likely to villainise you in society's eyes. (Who in most cases, yes- would support the girl.)
