Background Info.
History:

Young Takashi​

Takashi was born in Konoha. He lives with his parents in a small house near the ramen shop. As an only child, Takashi would often get lonely and bored. His father noticed this and told him that he was going to send him to the ninja academy to meet new friends and to become a ninja. Takashi was delighted and was sent to the ninja academy. There, he met a lot of new friends and trained to become a ninja. One day, when Takashi was walking home from the ninja academy, he saw his dad go into a forest with a nodachi. Curious, he followed his dad. When his dad stopped, he brought out the nodachi and sliced pieces of wood from a tree. Takashi wondered what he was doing when suddenly, his dad threw all the pieces in the air. Then, his dad jumped up and instantly sliced all the pieces of wood into bits with his eyes closed and gracefully did a double flip going down.. Takashi watched this with admiration and, without thinking that his dad might startle because he was secretly followed by him, clapped out loud. His dad got startled and almost crashed into the ground after doing the second flip. Fortunately, he didn’t. When Takashi came to him, he scolded him for startling him which almost made him crash into the ground. Takashi quickly apologized and told his dad that he wanted to wield the nodachi as fast as he did. His father told him that he would train him after he graduated from the ninja academy. Takashi agreed and became determined to graduate the ninja academy. A few years past and finally, at the age of 7, Takashi graduated from the ninja academy. He didn’t know what was waiting for him when he came home. When he came home, his father gave him a nodachi with the scabbard that was identical to his dad’s. He told Takashi that they would begin the training tomorrow at the forest where he saw his dad slicing the pieces of wood. Takashi agreed and slept peacefully.

The Training​

The next day, Takashi went to the forest and saw his dad with the 2 nodachis. His dad told him that he would teach him how to become a successful Slasher (In other words, Samurai/Swordsman). His dad said that the first thing he must learn was how to bring out the nodachi from its scabbard and return it. He showed Takashi how to do it and Takashi tried. It was difficult for him because the nodachi was surprisingly heavy despite its size and length. He tried again and again and after 1 month, he finally mastered it. His dad said the next step was to learn strokes, slices. His dad showed him the strokes and slices and Takashi copied and memorized it. This took him about 2 years to master since he was still young. After that, his dad said the 3rd step was to invent his own moves. Takashi was good at imagining moves he could invent and easily passed. Finally, his dad told him that the last step was to use all the things he learned. Takashi nodded and prepared for what was about to happen next. His dad sliced pieces of wood from 5 trees and told him that he was going to launch them in random directions. Before they started, his dad told him that when he was born, he was gifted with speed. He said that now is the time to put that gift into use. Takashi smiled and they began. His dad got the 1st batch of the pieces of wood and threw them separately in the sides of 2 trees. Takashi knew that he had to jump from tree to tree and slice them in a zigzag formation. When he sliced the last piece of wood, his dad instantly threw the 2nd batch of the pieces of wood to him. While in the air, Takashi sliced them all as fast as he could. When he landed, his dad ran around him, throwing the 3rd batch of the pieces of wood. Takashi spun around 2 times and sliced the 3rd batch of the pieces of wood. His dad got the last 2 batch and disappeared in the forest. Takashi knew that the pieces of wood would be coming in random directions and so he prepared for it. Suddenly, the 1st piece of wood hit his sword and it flew up in the air. Takashi was about to jump to get it when pieces of wood came flying towards him. He dodged some and kicked the others and finally got his sword. In the air, he was slicing pieces of wood and kicking the others. Finally the last pieces of wood came flying towards him in all directions. Takashi knew that he needed to slice with tremendous speed to overcome this. Takashi concentrated and when the pieces of wood were near enough to slice, sliced as fast as he could. He could only think of dodging and slicing and hitting and nothing else. He finally finished slicing the last piece of wood. When he landed, his father congratulated him for becoming a successful Slasher. He even put a tattoo on his left arm to symbolize that he is a Slasher now. Takashi thanked him and the 2 of them went home happily.


The Incident​


5 years passed and Takashi became a fine, strong Slasher. He kept improving his moves by having spars with his dad. On his 15th birthday, he and his parents went camping outside Konoha Village. They found a lake and decided to have their camping there. The rest of the day they were fishing and eating their food beside the lake. When dusk came, his dad got some wood and made a fire. They put 2 tents, 1 for Takashi and one for his parents. After that they slept peacefully. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, he heard a noise outside. Takashi sleepily got up and went outside his tent to see what was happening outside. He was horrified to see his father stabbed in the stomach lying on the ground. He quickly ran up to his father and asked what happened. The only words he got to hear before he was chopped in the back by a hand and almost became unconscious were " Take my Nodachi and clothes in the basement of our house". Before he almost became unconscious, he saw a cloak with red clouds and passed out. When he woke up, he remembered what he saw and heard yesterday. He looked to see if his mother was alive but was dead too. While walking back to the village, he swore to avenge their deaths by finding the person with a black cloak with red clouds. He went back to their house and tried to find the basement his dad said before dying. While looking, he suddenly saw a crack in the floor. He blew some dust away and realized that it was actually a secret hidden basement. He opened the hidden door. and went down the basement. He saw a lot of swords their and finally saw his dad's clothes. He put it on and saw that it fit perfectly. He thought it was his dad's clothes when he was young. Then, he found his dad's Nodachi and put it behind his cape. He got his Nodachi and put it in his side and went in search for the person with a black cloak with red clouds

The Mission​

Takashi went from village to village to find the man with the cloak but failed to do so. Along the way though, he has helped numerous people who were stolen or been attacked by rogue ninjas. He helped them by doing assassin-like stuff like ambushing rogue ninjas which resulted into some people calling him Lass. In return, some told him that the man he was looking for is a part of an organization called Akatsuki. They told him that they were S-Class Rogue ninjas that are very difficult to deal with. After a year of searching, he returned back to Konoha and rested. He reflected on what some told him about the Akatsuki and knew that he needed to become strong to defeat the person who killed his parents. He must find a sempai/sensei to help him master the ways of the wind (Wind Jutsus)

No it's just why do you say then "the nodachi was surprisingly heavy despite its size and length"? A nodachi is around 1.5 meters long, so it's almost as long as a human, so there's something odd with that statement to say that it's heavy despite its size and length o_O

Oh. Oopsy =)). It was because I was thinking that if the object was as thin as paper, it would be light despite it's length. And I was thinking like the main character. Like when he first saw it, it looked like it was light because it was as thin as paper even though it was long. Would it be better if I put It was difficult for him because the nodachi was heavy even though it looked like it was light because of it's size or It was difficult for him because the nodachi was heavy.

It was just a personal question of me as I'm NB's swordbiter, it doesn't really matter much what you say as I already approved the bio so it doesn't pose a problem and it's forbidden to edit it after it's approved unless by a mod.
Even though I have never seen a nodachi in real life, I doubt it's going to be as thin as paper. The blade is probably smaller than a katana, however it's way longer so that evens it out. Not to mention that weapon was meant to fight mounted enemies, if it's going to be as thin as paper I doubt it's going to be effective.

That's relative. The blade of a sword isn't the same size on all the sides. The back of a katana/kodachi/nodachi etc. is almost half a cm thick. Then it becomes smaller the closer you come to the sharp edge. In fact it becomes sharp due to that shape, it might be paperthin at the utmost edge, however that's the same with every bladed weapon. Even a double edged sword will be thicker in the middle of the blade and smaller when going to the sharp edges.

A paperthin weapon wouldn't be great because one of the reason as why bladed weapons have that shape is that when the edge cuts something by making the blade become thicker after the edge the wound will be bigger. It's the same principle with a chisel and a hammer. If you get the sharp edge of the chisel in a crack, by hammering on it the chisel will be hammered deeper and because the chisel becomes broader the crack will become bigger. If this chizel would be paperthin you could possibly hammer the chizel into the crack, but the crack wouldn't increase.

Ahhh. I understand now. You really know a lot about swords sir Caliburn ^^. Thank you for teaching me about swords and I apologize for my mistake :D.
