Been rereading one piece, I am on the Water Seven arc just when Sanji goes intot he train, and luffy/zoro get wrecked by CP9 and are sent flying.

But Ussop, to me came off as a little dog, in that entire argument. He knew the situation, yet continued to deny it, and get in a fight over it with Luffy, calling him an idiot and etc (which really hit my emotions.). But I kind of like how Iceberg questioned Luffy's ability as a Captain, and then moments later his ability as a captain was tested.

The line i found funny was "you were just looking for a ship from the start". Like damn man, they are pirates, and they specifically said they need a ship. Are you seriously saying this?

In your opinion, was Ussop an idiot in that argument or no?

Also, which side would you have taken?

Usopp's argument was pointless, ever since they met Aokiji he was saying things like "he does not want to continue sailing if there'll be stronger people", though it can be that he wanted to be punished for letting Franky take the money and he did it by letting Luffy beat him up and leaving the crew.

Ussop didn't leave because he was rustled about merry, he left because he thought he was too weak to become a strawhat when he was defeated by franky, and so he asked luffy for a fight to prove to them that he is no weak link, only sanji was smart enough to realize this btw which is why he stopped chopper from taking care of his as it would completely shatter what he was willing to prove aka his manliness.

That part was written pretty well, oda ks genius when it comes to ussop. As for my opinion on the argument, I would go with luffy, since he was actually accurate and logical for once, luffy himself wanted to keep merry but then his nakama were more important, the decision was difficult.

A ship is just a ship

How exactly is Oda a genius with Ussop's character?

usopp just tried to show that he is the one who cares about the ship. Also looks down on his captain by saying that he will put the weak member behind.Their actually usopp shows his lost trust in his abilities
