Ok susanoo and kurama avatar really affected the combat involving Naruto and Sasuke. Instead of battles with acrobatic ninja action we instead got the polar opposite, slow and largely off paneled giant monster melee ala the old Godzilla movies. It was just sort of a very silly direction to take the combat and stripped a lot of quick witted strategy and intricate choreography that made the battles up until the end of the pain arc so unique and fun.
I say make the susanoo a suicide technique, basically it's a last ditch move and uses up all the life energy in the body to create a spirit monster to block some unavoidable attack and make a last stand, and that's why Itachi dies after using it. Madara can use it in edo form because he has unlimited chakra, but Sasuke is limited to only using it partially like spawning an arm or skeleton cage until the final battle when he absorbs the bijuu chakra and uses it as a battery. Madara's susanoo would not reach its perfect form until he becomes the Juubi Jin which would make for an epic boss battle. Fact is susanoo was ok but it was too easy to spam, same with amateresu to be completely honest.
Naruto shouldn't have to use the kurama avatar to launch bijuu bombs he should be able to do it just like Vegeta would do a Big Bang attack just hold out his arm charge and launch. Kurama avatar shouldn't even exist it's design sucked anyway, he should have to literally transform into the flesh and blood 9 tails to tap into its full potential, and that's what fights Sasuke at the end when they go all out, spamming it earlier really slowed down the combat and looked silly knowing this was supposed to be a comic about ninja tactics.
