First off, I'd like to apoligize if this thread has been made before. But yeah, in the most recent chapter it is stated that the Sharingan is activated when an Uchiha looses someone they love, and it gets stronger as their emotions grow stronger (like, the different stages of it, 1 - 3 tomoe, MS, EMS).
So once this activation happens, is that chakra constantly being released or is it a one time thing? I would assume every time an Uchiha "levels" up their sharingan more chakra is released, but I'm not really sure. Anyway, I know it is possible to deactivate the sharingan and then re-activate it, but I am wondering if it is possible to reverse its awkening completely.

Once the nerve is effected (I don't really know much about the science aspect of this sorry, but then again it is the Narutoverse) is that permanent or does it need to be supplied with chakra over time to stay that way (meaning, if this supply was cut, it would no longer work at all)? Or could this effect be undone another way? It is known that even once someone has MS, and they use an eye tech like Izanagi or Izanami, after it's use that eye becomes useless. So it can become functionless even after having a high stage...however the way that works is related to Jutsu so I don't know if that really falls into the same category as what I mean.

I believe it needs chakra.

Good question! I'd imagine though since a such thing as the EMS exists, that Kishi never intended the Sharingan to be able to reverse. That's just my 2 cents on the subject.

Only Kishi could tell you something like that.

I don't think they could completely de-activate it unless they use Izanami or Izanagi which basically makes you lose an eye anyway

Reversing the Sharingan is a good logical question. Like the ones above have said asking
Kishi is your best bet bruh... Good theory BTW

Very interesting take on this.

We do know that to use the sharingan, one does not have to be enveloped in emotion, so that would lead us to think that it is always there "leveling up" when ever new, stronger emotions arise.

I find this strange because if you think of something like the limbic part of your brain that secretes chemicals to change emotion, the chemicals aren't always there, they just come when the need to change the emotion arises (e.g. stubbing your toe or winning the lottery) so that is why we don't feel which ever emotion at the same time. The only major difference is that even though the user doesn't feel any particular strong emotion, the sharingan may still be used.

It's a weird concept that I refuse to think about much further lol, but if I had to make sense of it, I'd say that the chakra only arrives to adds or modifies cells that control the sharingan, then the chakra leaves. The cells maintain their role as the sharingain activator until a stronger wave of chakra comes to strengthen them (MS).

That's a really interesting question. Theoretically, it should be possible. That would be a cool way to make sure Obito can't use his sharingan anymore. As for Madara, he's an edo now, so he would just heal again.
