Yoruichi Shihōin is a slender, dark-skinned woman of average height, with golden-colored eyes and long purple hair, which she keeps up in a ponytail. Her standard attire consists of a black, backless, sleeveless undershirt, an orange over-shirt with two white straps on each shoulder, a large beige sash around her waist, and black stretch pants with a pair of lightweight brown shoes, which allow for stealth. She previously wore a beige neck warmer, which she pulled up to cover her face in order to hide her identity, but seems to have forgone its use. She occasionally wears long beige wrist and leg warmers, each secured by bands. She, unlike most shinobi transforms into a cat using the transformation technique, this is also used for hiding her identity.

Personality
Yoruichi is intelligent and witty, holding an intimate knowledge of Ninjutsu and its workings. Although of noble birth, she acts differently from most other nobles, very much like Kaien Shiba. For instance, she instructed Soi-Fon to refer to her without using honorific suffixes, but reluctantly settled for being called "Yoruichi-sama". On several occasions, she transforms into her Human form directly in front of Ichigo just to see his reaction to seeing her naked, which she teases him about. In addition, she speaks in a dialect used by elders, such as identifying herself as "washi" (a term usually used by old men to define themselves with), instead of more feminine terms like "watashi", in both her Human and cat transformation form.
She appears to prefer spending most of her time in cat form. Upon showing her Human form to Ichigo, she forgot to put on clothes, as she had grown used to not needing them; due to being in cat form for so long. She especially takes delight in transforming in front of people to see their shocked reaction, due to her cat form making her sound male. Her love for her cat form extends to great anger should someone harm it or insult its appearance, as seen from how upset she got after her tail was damaged.
Although relatively calm and mature when a situation calls for it, Yoruichi is quite laid-back and playful, often teasing or flirting with those younger than her, such as Ichigo Kurosaki at the underground hot spring, a younger and hot-headed Byakuya Kuchiki, Soi-Fon before her time as a captain, and Kisuke Urahara, childhood friend, former underling, and fellow ex-captain. Yoruichi prefers to drink milk, which fits with her practice of transforming into a cat.

Background Info
Yoruichi was born into a noble family of sunagakure, though she was nothing like a noble and did not like being addressed with honorific terms. She later left her home and trained under a Sensei from the sand, she became a great taijutsu user and first learned the Wind element.
Later she became a captain of a squad and made friends with another captain named Keisuke Urahara (-Tsuki). Yoruichi's first student was Kuchiki Byakuya, training him in speed and taijutsu, he also had the swift Kekkei Genkei and she trained him in that as she had mastered it before him when she was younger. She now teases him whenever she has the time to visit his village.

Yoruichi's second student was Soi Fon, they both became really close and Soi Fon managed to become Yoruichi's second in command of her squad and learned nearly everything Yoruichi knew. At one time Yoruichi went missing from Sunagakure and when she finally came back like nothing had happened, Soi fon was angry with her and asked her why she wasn't allowed to come with her. Though later on they made up and their friendship became stronger than ever - working together on various occasions such as missions or teasing the younger shinobi generation.
A couple of years later a battle found it's way to sunagakure, it was in ruins and the attackers leader; Aizen was the last enemy remaining; Keisuke, Yoruichi and Isshin who was another friend had ambushed Aizen to try and at least seal him. Yoruichi and the other two tried their very best to hold off Aizen, but couldn't and had to retreat so that there were no casualties. A Shinobi named Ichigo later defeated Aizen, who was actually trained by Yoruichi at one point - a proud kitty right here.

After the battle, Yoruichi left Sunagakure, she didn't become rogue and left to adventure, seek new students and maybe power if she was lucky. She was and met a Shinobi in Amegakure, he was a humble soul and eventually trained her in the element Rain. After spending a large amount of time in the rain village, she got fed up of the terrible weather and mastered her new element; she gave her thanks to her Rain Sensei and left backto Sunagakure.
After the Yoruichi returned, she was promoted to First General of Sunagakure after showing excellence in strategy, leadership and strength. She likes works along side her best friend Urahara whos is the Peace General of Sunagakure, though she spends most of her time in the form of a Cat and sometimes trains people other that Soi-Fon. Yoruichi being the first officer also spends her time with the Kazekage, Albel - the two have also had a past and she constantly makes him feel uncomfortable as his reactions entertain her.

Yoruichi's affinity to wind allows her to perform jutsus by using only one hand seal, giving her an advantages to wind over her opponents.

Yoruichi's affinity to lightning allows her to perform the techniques' handseals a lot faster.
Tools
Yoruichi carries many tools in her ninja pouch, these tools include kunai, shuriken, ninja wire, scrolls for jutsu. She also has smoke bombs, flash bombs and explosive tags. She also carries a short sword on her right hip.
She also has these knives called Anken which she hides behind her clothes, there are also some where she can release at her opponent with a swing of her leg
Taijutsu
Yoruichi doesn't use many tools, she likes to use her fists and she is very good with them. Her great skill in taijutsu has allowed her to become faster and stronger than most shinobi.
Barnacle Contract
Yoruichi has the tattoo of the Barnacle Summons on the palm of her right hand, they are the second contract that she signed.
Impact Arts
For this Fighting Style in particular she has boomerangs stored in her ninja pouch, they are quite small and about the size of a Kunai - just a little bigger though and on one side of the boomerang she has a grip. Her boomerangs are steel and have sharp edges for cutting damage.
