He was not weak minded, he only killed himself because he wanted everyone (enemies included) to think that he'd destroyed his own eyes. That's the only thing that put an end to the battle for his eyes and allowed Itachi to keep Shisui's right eye safe. Thanks to Shisui's brave act, Itachi could carry on without worry of someone trying to get the eye.

I think its a high possibility seeing as Obito could of collected the DNA of a strong MS user, I doubt he would pass up the chance to at least inspect his body, if Obito knows Edo Tensai, which im pretty sure he doesn't, but hey, he has a sharingan.

Obito does know edo tensei, he learned it from Kabuto remember? when he brought out Foo and Torune for Kabuto to show him it in action.
