He wears a Leaf Village forehead protector, layered black-and-white modified Hyūga robes, a braided waist sash, reinforced forearm guards, and fingerless gloves. His attire blends traditional clan aesthetics with practical combat gear, reflecting his disciplined Gentle Fist fighting style and mastery of close-quarters combat. In times of war he wears a traditional shinobi flak jacket and gear.

Retsu is a man of few words, unwavering conviction, and an intimidating calm that rarely breaks, even in the face of overwhelming opposition. He is observant by nature, preferring to study a person’s intentions, habits, and weaknesses before deciding how to deal with them.
