Kishi obviously demonstrated Hidan's CQC skills on Asuma and Kakashi and even Kakuzu was retreating when he was controlled by Shikamaru (he'd have no problem pounding his ass).

Kakashi was more concerned about Kakuzu attacking him rather than Hidan which is why he acted prudently and fought on the defensive instead. The team already mapped out a strategy to defeat Hidan, so arbitrarily trying to decapitate him would've been fruitless.

itachi can beat hidan without sharingan with only clones and no ninjustu, give him his crow/exploding clones and his kunai/shurikens and he beats hidan, he ends up blinding hidan with shuriken and taking him out with a kunai to the neck, he is faster and tagged faster foes, hidan aint tagging itachi even without sharingan
As i've been saying he only did the bare minimum to conserve chakra and follow shikamaru's plan. He used no ninjutsu no genjutsu and limited taijutsu. Anything more was an unnecessary waste of chakra. Coupled with the fact that hidan had backup which still netted him absolutely nothing. Not even a scratch.

Thats cool that you call it limited taijutsu when we see him directly confronting Hidan, and Hidan parrying his attack lol which is all we need to know and say that Hidan can deal with an attacking early part two 3T Kakashi in CQC, not even mentioning his immortality advantage here just his base stats lol.

it is limited taijutsu, We know the man is capable of even opening gates but opted not to, we know he uses ninjutsu in conjunction with his taijutsu but again didn't do it. Infact all he used was a kunai, 1 hand.
Why should I? to say he' equal to 3t kakashi in taijutsu means that if he gets assistance(which he did two times mind you) it makes him superior to 3t kakashi. Its simple fcking math .1 cannot be equal to 1 plus a positive variable.
So unless you're gonna say ino,hidan, and kakazu are all liars
