Well according to the translations of today's chapter it looks like Boruto's seal so far is more of a hindrance to him rather than a power up:

> Boruto can't move his body
> Boruto says he can't use his own power/chakra anymore (the seal is restricting him).

That's good though IMO. Better than instant powers. Boruto will save Konohagakure from Kawaki, but I don't think he's going to be a savior. He's not a Hokage, so in the end that job rests on someone else.
