On a serious note...can anybody explain why individuals would overhype a character tht has never had any battle screen time or has barely had any screen time in both the manga and anime? Becuz in all honesty i just dnt get it:shrug:

It's called hype/legend. Hype and legends are created by people witnessing feats, then passing the knowledge on to others. That's how.

Because if they haven't been shown, then they cant be disproven. U_U Just like the people who say they know how many stars are in the sky. You cant really disprove them, which means them feel important.

Because it's their favorite character so according to them they have to be uber powerful.

It's no different with how hyped up Minato was before getting any panel time. People think a character looks cool and powerful so they create threads trying to prove how powerful they are despite there being no proof.

Their Abilities and Hype, etc. all compare to certain more popular, wide fan-base of characters or "Stronger/Skillful" characters which make them in league of their own such as Minato, Hashirama, Itachi, etc.

Its the legend they leave behind. If the so called legend is said that he has beaten other legends then its passed down through time as an being above all others. ( so6p, hashi, and madara.)

Because it is their favorite character nand they overhype anything they like for example hiruzen they go back to hype and "prime" and they will defend him because he was called this and that

It's purely arbitrary, if someone were to have an inclination towards a character because of their supposed legendary feats, they would continue to advocate their supremacy, deriving their arguments from misconstrued facts! We see this happening with the "God of Shinobi", Hiruzen, and also with Hashirama if you really look at it objectively! We've only been told of what they were capable of, and we base our arguments off of basically what Kishi says. And in some regards, it's better to leave up to the imagination what his intentions in regard to the development of certain characters are, because isn't that a pretty great element of plot called suspense? And besides, The Sage of the Six Paths hasn't been given any solid manga/anime action screen time, yet we still know him to be absurdly powerful!
