Id rather wait and see if the new content is good before dismissing it as low level garbage. Theres been like 4 pages of new content and it really isnt enough to judge whether its going to end up being good or not, so ill wait and see rather than assuming its going to be garbage. The existence of the boruto manga takes nothing away from the original series. If you or i or anyone doesnt like the new series, thats fine. Dont bother reading it then. It doesnt stop you from enjoying the original series. Its not like this is a retelling of naruto's story.

I have already seen enough to know the content will be garbage. But you can do whatever you want buddy.

A lot of people hate dragonball gt. myself included. This doesnt stop me from enjoying dragonball and dragonball z though, and many people still watch and love the original work. Some people actually do like GT, and who am imto say it shouldnt exist? It certainly didnt stop toriyama from creating dragonball super which, completely ignores gt. i just dont think your sentimental "i was so invested in the orig. story" argument holds up at all.

Did Toriyama explain why he stopped making DBZ? If you can give me that answer than we will talk.

I dont see where youre going with the ps4/ps1 question. I have a ps4 and i still play my original playstation from time to time. There are classic games on it that are good whether or not the ps4 has better graphics. But my nostalgia for the ps1 days isnt going to prevent me from enjoying modern games either.

You don't really have to worry about that. My question was directed at him for a reason. Its all about whatever's your personal preference. Some will go back to them some won't.

Toriyamas reasoning for ending dbz literally has no relevence to the discussion at hand. The idea im trying to present to you is that whether you like the result or not, most popular comic book series, historically speaking, typically have some kind of sequel or retelling. Its going to happen whether you want it to or not. Your love for the original work has no bearing on the quality of the new work. Nor does how good the original story is prevent a sequal from happening. Look at Marvel/DC. They wear the shit out of their IPs. In comparison, a boruto manga is actually rather silly to complain about. If you dont like the idea of it its as simple as not reading it and now spending your hard earned money on the content. If its shall be revealed as such in time, but i consider it wiser to see the idea completely come to fruition before writing it off completely. Such is my mind based on logic though, after all, you are a fairy tail fan(im joking dont get butthurt)

How many? Show me numbers.

"But considering this huge success, it seems the demand for more adventures of Naruto's son may remain for a while."

There was a thread on people voting on a poll for it, I'll have to search for it later.

Exactly, which means we won't be missing out on much by skipping this series, when we have already seen it all from the original. Plus that alone justifies the reason of disliking this series. Cause its just not Naruto without Kishimoto.
Well Kishimoto is heavily involved with the series. He's just not the one controlling the main ideas anymore, but he's working on the story.

Exactly, it has been garbage since the War arc. What is the point of continuing it and expecting it to be better? Honestly do you or anyone else believe that this amatuer artist will change your mind about this series, when Kishi himself never could near the ending?
The only point is that the guy who ruined Naruto isn't the one controlling Naruto anymore. So we may end up liking a new series that continues the Naruto theme.

Don't confuse spending time on this forum with reading the series by itself. What this forum does is different compared to how the series was presented. Majority of us are here to pass time. Not all of us are here for Naruto.
And here we are talking about Naruto in a Naruto discussion. I know very well the difference between people who use the forum for forum related stuff, and people who use the forum for Naruto related stuff.

So you would dump better games of PS4 for that? Alright fair enough.
What better games? Shitty COD games? Barely any good PS4 games atm.

Uncharted 4, Batman Arkham City, and some other games that haven't come out yet are probably the only games worth mentioning right now.

I'd switch out the crappy games for quality games any-day.

Marvel and DC aren't directly comparable to Naruto/Boruto, because they do something very clever to avoid infuriating the fans or to make it appear like they're "milking," even though they are.

By making the creation of different universes "canon," in a sense, they're able to continue doing different things without infuriating the fanbase by giving Approval From God for readers to which stories they want to believe are true and to follow, while also coming out and saying "these stories are definitely fanfic" (ex: What If? stories). So there isn't the same sense of "my series is being destroyed!" Your series ended, and they're just doing another version of it.

With Boruto, and most other manga/anime, this doesn't really happen. The relationship between GT and Super is basically the relationship between Star Wars in regards to pre-Disney and post-Disney canon. They waited a long time until they were ready to milk the series again, and then rendered GT or the Star Wars EU not-canon, which is just disrespectful and obviously geared towards milking. So there's more contempt for the writers there. In the case of Boruto, readers feel that a manga they respected (and that got beaten to hell in War Arc) is being resurrected from the dead to be beaten more, just because the publishers want more milk.

Even though you can choose not to read Boruto, it still remains that a series readers care about is being, from their perspective, abused just so publishers can make more money. If Shueisha came out and said "This is a separate and unrelated series about the adventures of Naruto's kid," there'd probably be less backlash. If Shueisha had announced their intention to make a Boruto manga right away, and was more transparent about the whole thing, there'd probably be less backlash.

Super also gets more of a pass because it's endorsed and made with Toriyama's participation, whereas GT wasn't really, and Toriyama outright disliked creative decisions made in GT. In the case of Boruto, it's perceived that this isn't really happening because Kishimoto wants it to happen as much as it is happening because Shueisha can't really let the series go, and just wants more money at all costs.

I don't mind the Boruto manga; I think it's fine and people who like the series will probably continue to enjoy it; those who are critical will remain critical and I don't see the new mangaka doing anything revolutionary that's going to change their minds. Still, I understand the point of view of people who are butthurt about it.

Well your reasoning has nothing to do with my reasoning than. Cause I was simply pointing out the contradiction of the author. As for the rest of your comparision with DC and Marvel is a joke because manga and comics work differently. Hell I don't even read comics.

Marvel/dc comics have been around a lot longer and its been commonplace for a while now for other authors to write for popular characters. There is the idea of different universes and this is actually a good way to keep people from crying about canon. Which while useful sometimes is kind of a ridiculous concept anyway because its fiction. Its necessary for an original main story to an extent but it isnt even unheard of for something originally considered to be non canon filler to become canon.
my main point was typically when something is popular content keeps coming out. Its a bit less common in anime/manga but it still happens. What im trying to say is you cant assume its garbage based on nothing. This author hasnt even shown us much yet so its pure ignorance to label it as garbage and you havent done much to convince me otherwise. If the war arc was garbage(which id agree it was the worst part of the original material) i dont see why a new author would be so bad, kishi wasnt doing such a great job near the end anyway.'But to each their own. Im more concerned about a good story than superficial things. You're a fairy tale fan lol

Two different fanbases, two different organization. The only thing they share in common is that they are fictional cartoons.

my main point was typically when something is popular content keeps coming out. Its a bit less common in anime/manga but it still happens.

Exactly if its less common than why should I expect it?

What im trying to say is you cant assume its garbage based on nothing. This author hasnt even shown us much yet so its pure ignorance to label it as garbage and you havent done much to convince me otherwise.

This guy has not shown us anything yet?

This guy has shown us belts.
This guy has shown us changes to multple characters look wise. Some of them even lost some of there sexual appeal because of it. (see Sasuke, and Hinata)
This guy has shown us his previous work, which was never convincing to begin with.

So yes we have seen enough of what this guy can do creation wise and if he is to improve he won't improve into Kishi's style. It will pretty much be this style with few improvements. Now how do I know this? Because I have seen other artist improve like that.

@Bold: You are not convinced because I have not tried to convince you in anyway. Because if you want to wait and see that is your own choice. I on the other hand do not really need to see anymore to know that this rehash will be garbage. Its because I trust my gut feeling more than you.

If the war arc was garbage(which id agree it was the worst part of the original material) i dont see why a new author would be so bad, kishi wasnt doing such a great job near the end anyway.'But to each their own. I see so you expect this guy to show you better content than Kishi. Lets see how right you are. Go ahead wait and see. I on the other hand have seen enough.

My only problem with this manga as already mentioned in another thread that depicting naruto as a failure to restore peace and this manga became a never ending drama with all the whining wars and taking out the most OP characters for boruto to shine was one of the most shittiest reason and Author always need to follow Universal laws of that plot that he created he mustn't break it with asspulls and bringing new powerups breaking logic. looked like a shitty retcon rather than a naruto manga.
