When the show first appeared...it really looked like a NINJA type of show.. shuriken.... shadow sneaky stuff...missions..... now.... its just a scratch off of dragon ball z. Ninjas don't summon meteors..... bring people back from the dead.... glow bright yellow when he is powered up. Ninjas are suppose to kill from the shadows.... not light the whole forest up..

In a way.. I think kishi forgot that this is actually a ninja show... and got too involved in making flashy moves and battles.. I kinda wish he kept up with the ninja theme. Like for example, come on, naruto and sasuke is only fifteen or sixteen... they should not be killing hokages and expert ninjas that have been around for many many more years than them.

Yeah I miss the true strategies that had nothing to do with power but everything to do with intellect and sometimes dumb luck but tbh Kishi has always had a bit of a DBZ thing going on. Remember in part 1 when Konoha 7 survived Zabuza and Haku? Personally I think Haku could've killed them all but lo and behold he was knocked silly by Naruto after he tapped nto the 9 tailed fox.

I understand what you're saying about OP, but that show's also more creatively designed. And how are we to know what Shinigamis/Soul Reapers act like? I severely, severely doubt you, or anybody else, has encountered a Shinigami. So....

OT: I have to agree. It seems like Kishi's inspiration is shining through Naruto alot.

I know you're not complaining exactly, but please understand that many people HAVE, before you. And I personally think it's starting to get a bit too annoying. When it comes to your thread, well... There are many things in part 1 that have little to no connection to the common perception of ninjas. Last I checked, ninjas were not living normally in a village and did not make up the whole military force of a country. If we're going to talk about what we generally think of as ninjas, then ANBU black ops are the only ones fit for the title. No one wearing blue and orange in the streets can call himself a ninja.

However, it all comes down to what do we think a ninja is. I used to have my ninja concept based on what I had seen in movies, and played in games like Ninja Gaiden and so on. People like Sasuke more because he's closer to their concept of the perfect ninja, at least generally speaking. But since I started watching Naruto, I learned that being a Ninja is not only what I thought it was. And especially in the latest chapters, I realized there's much more to being a ninja than throwing Shurikens, kunais and poisoning one's adversary, or wearing masks to cover fifty percent of our face.


It's all about own concepts. One can disagree while still tolerating other's concepts. Kishimoto's concept is interesting and has worked perfectly for him.

Shinigamis are based on legends.... to be accurate Japense/Chinese legends. Soo just read those and you'll know how.

But its still the same thing, but with powers added on.

You are very right. Even if we speak about Dragon Ball... Why do aliens look like Humans? Wouldn't it have been more logical if Saiyans had strange bodies like Cell or Freezer? Instead, we get what could have been understood as the perfect Human evolution. So even here we can find concepts can be different.

Amen. Or similar to how in Bleach Shinigami's have their own world..just like how earth is.. Its all on adapting the idea. And then we have Pirates from one piece, with fancy technology and helping civilians out, saving kingdoms X_X.
