Unlike obito madara actually knows how to use the rinnegan and anything obito can do madara can do on a larger scale
1. Madara was never stronger than any form of adult Obito, he's only more experienced and was even out conned by obito.

2. Even Harshi acknowledged Obito's badassness (Madara was still inferior to Harshi) he said to Naruto and I quote "that man is stronger than me" not Madara but Obito.

Obito only got hit with the rods because Madara attacked right after he came out of kamuiland after his fight with Kakashi. It was a surprise attack and Obito was injured. Those rods aren't a counter to kamui. Obito won't get hit in an actual 1 vs 1 with Madara. Try again.
