Watching a real fight was boring?

If anything that fight would've made them realise they need to up their game gor round 2. The next step would've been actual mentoring from a sensei(kakashi) in Sakura's case. She would've had an arsenal of ninjutsu since Kishi already hyped her immense chakra control. Imo it would've been the best thing that could've happened to her pre Tsunade.

It was a pivotal moment for them both and their rivalry but I agree it was unnecessarily long. He stretched some of the fight more than it had to be. But Sakura had the moves tho

Funny thing is this fight was 15 - 20 minutes max because he just said it had only been 10 just before Ino cut her hair and stuff

Which means everyone else even Gaara's fight with lee was less than 10 minutes?

Oh wait, they fought for 10 whole minutes and punched each other out leaving Kakashi to sigh and the ref speechless at the utter display of ninja prowess.

You do know if Sakura won that fight she would've gone on to learn ninjutsu(water/earth) and genjutsu(yin release techs) from kakashi and have a dozen or so jutsu at her disposal for the second round. Imo that was biggest missed opportunity by kishi for Sakura to develop in part 1.

You do know if Sakura won that fight she would've gone on to learn ninjutsu(water/earth) and genjutsu(yin release techs) from kakashi and have a dozen or so jutsu at her disposal for the second round. Imo that was biggest missed opportunity by kishi for Sakura to develop in part 1.

You’re speculating that he would take time to train her in anyway. Why did she have to win for that to happen anyway.
