Maine Pyar Kiya and Qayamat se Qayamat Tak are probably the harbinger of the 90s era and it sounds good to end 80s era with them. But I think we missed a bit too much on the 80s. How about we post 5 songs each from the 80s, and then move on?

Posting Saagar, one of the most melodious albums of 80s to me!

I think I've watched Utsav but like when I was really a kid...Don't remember anything from its story. ;P

Anyhow, we won't recreate the 80s successfully without Jeetendra-Sridevi jodi. xD Even if Sajid Khan ruined it this year U_U

Nice song, and well, never saw Himmatwala as a classic either :p I guess, it's just Sajid's obsession that this is his most favorite film that he over-hyped it xD

Oh well, my last post of 80s...Actually, still got a handful of melodies but gotta choose one song.
And even it's far from my fav. 80s songs (it's still fun though :p), it'll be preposterous not to post Disco Dancer.
If the 80s became the Disco Era of Bollywood, let's give Mithun-da due credit, and tribute him in this thread!

I'll start with Aashiqui: Till date, the top-ranked audio-selling album in Bollywood history; and so shall it be forever...I never mince my words on that - in my opinion, Aashiqui is the best full-fledged out romantic album in Bollywood's history. No complete romantic albums compare to it. Ever! 10 songs - all gems with 7 strong contenders to be best song of the album. And that's no easy feat even in 100 years of Bollywood. After rise of Udit Narayan & Alka Yagnik at end of 80s with Qayamat se Qayamat Tak, this marked the 2nd milestone in 90s musical era - the rise of Kumar Sanu in Aashiqui!

The song is from 90's only. ;)

But, another debut from 80s which we missed: Dancing king Govinda. I may not always like the way he dances and most of the songs he got are not to my personal liking, but he is one of the most natural talents when it comes to dance. The guy has a great sense of rhythm and can move on it. Have to give that to him. :p

I also think that Govinda is an institute of Bollywood dance - one that is a master of facial expression mainly. That being said, there were probably better or more popular songs to tribute him :p But never mind...

Love that song; even if I still didn't understand how someone, on the road to his marriage, ends up from India to Pakistan :p

I was really planning to post Deewana, though more for the debut of SRK :p So, didn't really thought of this song xD Never mind...

Moving on...with one of the deepest romance albums of the 90s with Saajan. Probably, the closest Nadeem-Shravan came to top their Aashiqui magic. I love Aashiqui more, but what a great album though! Apart from re-establishing the true talent of Nadeem-Shravan, it was another tour de force for SP Balasubrahmanyam/Salman Khan duo.

It's been such a long time that I had forgotten all those school time songs. There were so many new entries in 90s - many of them survived and many fell flat after giving a single hit.

I was thinking of entering Khiladi too. Either this one or Waada Raha Sanam from first Khiladi movie :p Both are great songs xD

And Ye Dil Deewana is awesome XD Speaking of which, time for SRK! Given that I didn't post Deewana, let's go with the one movie (along with Baazigar) that made him a star.

I prolly love the 90s the most - given that it's the full of nostalgia but yet, it's in years I was born into. Also, I think it was the most romantic-songs enriched era.
