This is a religious discussion thread, I like these kinds of thread, since they enhance my knowledge and let me learn things from my fellow NB members. So lets just keep it calm guys. And not go off-topic into other things. Those who are atheists can shed their beliefs on the following topics.


Just stick to the following questions:

1. Making of the universe. How was the universe made according to your religion? What was the process?

2. Purpose of humanity. What is our purpose according to your religion? Why do we exist?

3. How should we live. What does your religion say about how we should live?

4. What attracts you toward it. What is the thing that attracts people towards the religion you represent.


So those are main topics that are to be answered in this discussion. It is honestly your choice whether to participate and act like mature people or not.

I will be taking sides for the "Sikh" and "Buddhism" religion, though I am quite informative in Islam.. but there are already plenty of members for Islam and christianity and hinduism. .

So lets gain knowledge and enjoy!!!!! =D​

Religon is part of peoples lifestyles and despite of what atheists would have u believe religous peole are not all the same and they are not all idiots.
Im not gonna say if im this or that but i dont have a problem with religon or atheism, but i dont like it when others force their opinions, that goes especially towards atheists in my experiance, there is a differance between normal people and atheists, if u just dont believe in god then thats one thing but if you have to destroy other peoples belives your retarded.

I'll start it for sikh:

1. : “You Yourself created the earth, and the two lamps of the sun and the moon” (SGGS p83); "He creates planets, solar systems and galaxies;" (SGGS p1162). And, “Many millions are the moons, suns and stars” Firstly that means that in Sikh God or the "higher being" is responsible for all the creation. But this does not mean that the earth is only some thousands of years old. Or just plain strict ed as the center of the universe. Or that this is the first time he has done it .
The Sikh's holy book even goes furthermore to state that he has created it many times, and destroyed it.

“There are planets, solar systems and galaxies. If one speaks of them, there is no limit, no end. There are worlds upon worlds of His Creation. As He commands, so they exist. He watches over all, and contemplating the creation, He rejoices. Nanak says, to describe this is as hard as steel!” This quote right here still holds to be true.. and this is from 1400s.... lolll. No one knows the universe's end.. we can't hope to describe it.

And the question for when was it created.. well the sikh religion doesn't have an answer for that. Because it is impossible to have such an answer.

"What was that time, and what was that moment? What was that day, and what was that date?
What was that season, and what was that month, when the Universe was created?
The Pandits, the religious scholars, cannot find that time, even if it is written in the Puraanas.
That time is not known to the Qazis, who study the Koran.
The day and the date are not known to the Yogis, nor is the month or the season.
The Creator who created this creation-only He Himself knows."

How/Why/When the universe was created is irrelevant in the Sikh religion.
They simply end this topic with this simple quote from their holy book.
"Many millions are the fields of creation and the galaxies. Many millions are the etheric skies and the solar systems....So many times, He has expanded His expansion....Many millions are created in various forms......His limits are not known to anyone."

3. We should live in peace, speak the truth , help our neighbours and relatives, enjoy the pleasures of the world,not to oppress and resist oppression and most of all the remembrance and worshipping of God.

4. I am attracted to my religion because it encourages peace and promises reward for good deeds both in this world and the next. It encourages open mindedness and most of all the acquisition of knowledge

World made in 6 days by God, 7th day allotted for rest.

We were made to be caretakers for the planet.
3. How should we live. What does your religion say about how we should live?
We should try to better the world, and most importantly, be good to others.
4. What attracts you toward it. What is the thing that attracts people towards the religion you represent.
The community. Religious Jews have a huge support system for one another. I can't answer this for converts though.
