what is good...

being good is showing respect and understanding for everyone WITHOUT demanding or expecting anything in return for it. its doing everything you possibly could do to help a complete stranger in need as you would for someone you love without hoping you get applauded for it.

being good definitely does not come from religion because religion itself is the most hypocrite thing out there in this world. even more than government. they try to say that we have freedom of choice to live as we want, but if we don't give our faith to a religion, we're going to hell. even if you live your life as a good person, you're still "damned" to eternal punishment. how does that make sense? but according to them, god is love right?

religion is corrupt no matter which it is. those bibles/scriptures they all have, they were written by MAN who could of written whatever they wanted for their own advantage (mormons for example). all basic religions have killed for their own personal gain, and for power. how many people have atheists killed over what they believed? how many atheists are condemning people to hell just because they don't believe in the same thing as them? how many atheists are living their life as "good people" just because they are hoping it will get them to whatever afterlife paradise they believe in? now i'm not totally defending them because i think they're as ignorant as religion freaks when it comes to how the universe came to be, but you should see where i'm getting at with this.

what makes a person good? selflessly showing love to their fellow man without expecting any reward for it. religion tells you that you should live like that or else you go to hell. so are you really doing it selflessly like that? as retardedly ignorant as some atheists may be, at least the ones who are good, do it because they actually selflessly care about people everywhere. good comes from the heart of who you are, not from a belief that tells that you better be good, or else.
i probably has over time but most of the morals are the same

First off all, religion does not cause war. Pride and egomania do. The fact that people can't handle that other people have other beliefs. Sound familiar?

Anyway, I guess I have a unique view on things. I personally don't believe in religion, but I do believe in God. If God truly wanted us to follow a written set of rules, everyone on Earth would be following them. I believe that God's religion is love and compassion, all manliness aside.

However, it can go either way.

No one knows how the Universe started, because it cannot be proven. The Big Bang is theoretically impossible based off of the Law of Conservation of Energy.

Believing some omnipotent being on the other side created the Universe is just as preposterous as believing the Universe was started by whatever it is anyone wants to believe. They are all equally unrealistic and unlikely, however, there has to be some sort of solution. I believe that is God. Many other people will believe otherwise. It's all about one's view on things.

But, we had to have come from somewhere.

^All of this.

:| religion is evil, a great deal of the war's that have happened and are still happening are because people want to glorify there god and force it on other's for some fake utopia. I could write 3 books on everything that is wrong with religion but that wouldn't change a damn thing.

Religion is not evil but the followers are a different matter, no religion has preached war in any form or method. People bring their evil deeds in to religion and corrupt it to suit their own personal needs and goals. A person may believe that they are fighting for the sake a said faith but in reality is far from that
