I don't really believe in any god.

But i wouldn't bother me if i ended up with someone religious. The only time it would be a problem is if they try to force their belief upon me all the time or our children.

What's there to laugh about that. Not everyone can put their religion into ignore list like you Sir
Of course they can't. But that has nothing to do with my religious views. Its just something about the human nature that I saw in your convo that cracked me up xD

yup, it is laughable. how easily a single forum post changed her views on this rather serious topic......no wonder the new generation is so easily manipulated.
Its been same for all of humanity. Humans can be easily manipulated. Especially those who aren't allowed to think on their own.

Sorry for that. But I won't talk anymore on this topic Obviously everyone has his own views. Hell even I differ with my own parents sometime on religion topic So we all just need to follow our own paths.

As for her comment its not laughable. It just points toward the fact that in our country No involves children that much in religion until they are 18. So that they can understand it better. Thanks for the conversation though

Agreed with the bolded part.

I disagree with the part about not involving kids below 18 in religion in your country or for that matter anywhere in the world. But yes I to think we better stop here.

Depends of the person actually .... Personally I would not let it stop me unless my partner is trying to shove it down my throat, some of my friends wont either but most of them would ..... sadly the word is what it is not what it should or would be.

Religion ruining something is bs. Also you don't have to leave him but if you're getting married and you're religious you're gonna have to do it in a curch. So...

Father and Mother of one of best friends is from different religions ( his father is a Buddhist and mother is a catholic ) but they have no problems with it and my friend goes to both church and Buddhist temple , differences between religion doesn't matter that much , if you can take good things from both religions and forget those differences .

If anyone is going to have a problem with marriage concerning beliefs its a jew or a muslim. A catholic doesn't care who they marry person who started this thread. Jews and muslims consistently ban marriages that have other people believing other religious ideas.

I've been thinking about this myself and..I couldn't take up a religion even for the girl I love. I'm not gonna change that much for someone or else I couldn't look at myself the same anymore. Would I date a Christian girl? Yes. Would I tolerate religious bullshit from her? No.

Your faith or lack thereof is a major part of determining your compatibility with someone else. It may last a few years, but could you really spend a lifetime with someone who believes in completely different things than you do?

Perhaps, but it's a rarity. Don't pin this on religion either, this is about your core beliefs about life. Much larger than religion.

Reminds me of a lot of Bollywood(Indian) films based upon same topic.XD
Your mom opposes mostly because I think she wants you to know the differences it would make after getting married with someone from other religion. Different religious practices maybe a hurdle sometimes, but if you love each other and know that you can overcome that barrier or if you are an atheist, I don't think there is anything wrong in going for it.U_U
@Bold l0l0l0l I knew I wasn't the only one thinking of this.

OT: Yeah religion shouldn't matter but it ain't much of a issue. Race seems to be a bigger issue now.

As someone who's had a boyfriend with a different religion than me, it wasn't religion that ruined it.
I've had all kinds of relationships, most of which they had different religions and it's not really the religion that ruined any of them. I mean, it shouldn't matter anyway, you should respect your significant other's religion, in my opinion.
