so ...ever since people start to go crazy regarding the new chapter and how madara seems to be OP and stuff im goin to kinda sum up (at least the way i understand) what madaras goal COULD BE.
sry if any1 already made a thread on this, but i think people are forgetting the bigger picture kishi has in mind ...and ever since it realy IS kinda complex no1 can be blamed. IF any1 has some information regarding this plz feel free to link it here!

1. Timeline
1.1 Madara and Hashirama
Madara and hashirama were said to have lived at the same time. They fought and madara lost to hashi. At that point madara gained a portion of Hashiramas strength ..if that was intended or not, we dont know.
Madara DID NOT die in that fight..he lived a bit longer ..."he unlocked the rinnegan shortly before his death".
1.2 Nagato and Orochimaru
We dont know Nagatos exact age, but we know that he was a child when orochimaru was still in the village (meaning at that point Orochimaru was still perfectly sane).
1.3 Nagato and Madara
We dont know exactly how but apparently Madara knew of Nagato and his rinnegan powers.
the thing with this is ...that madara was EXPECTING to be ressurected. But as we see (even on the exact same page) he didnt think it would be via the Edo Tensei...the only other option (we know this far) is to be ressurected via the rinnegans outer path ...meaning that there might have been a plan that nagato should have been used to resurrect madara directly...apparently that failed
1.4 Madara and Orochimaru
this is were the theorycrafting starts... cause we only know the following:
We know that madara may have lived long enough to meet a young orochimaru.
2. The actual theory
Madara will be able (or already has done it at this point) to implant the "portion of Hashiramas strength" he gained into his body. If we say, that the dual - bloodline theory regarding the rinnegan is true (i wont state it here though) that means that ever since he combined the powers of uchiha AND senju in his body he is able to unlock the rinnegan!
I think that madara, ever since he seems more like a warlord than a scientist needs some help in combining those powers however. His hands-man in that case could definitely be orochimaru. Why?
lets remember:
- orochimaru was perfectly sane for some time ...at least to the time he met nagato.
- suddenly became obsessed with the powers of the uchiha and the thought of immortality.
- conducted experiments with transplantation of bodyparts and DNA into different hostbodies.
- Succeded in "creating" a mini-hashirama as he transplanted senju-dna into an average boy --> Yamato.
This means ...that orochimaru was able to transplant Senju DNA SUCCESSFULLY into a hostbody ...an ability that is needed to combine Uchiha and Senju powers. And this knowledge might have been used in order to unlock Madaras Rinnegan.
However ...since madara was dying and even the rinnegan couldnt prevent that ..they both came to an agreement....
- Orochimaru would preserve Madaras body
- Madara would give him his new rinnegan-eyes
- Orochimaru would transplant them into a host and revive madara with the outer path --> meaningly nagato (ever since he is an uzumaki he would already have the senju-body)
! this would also perfectly state why orochimaru lied to Master-J and said, that nagato died after he left them alone !
further more it would explain how kabuto got a portion of Madaras DNA to revive him with the Edo Tensei.

i dont rly know how tobi fits in this theory ...maybe he knew from orochimarus plan and invited him into the akatsuki. They could have worked together in order to give nagato his rinnegan. Then tobi could have turned onto orochimaru and oro left akatsuki.
