[THEORY] Relation between Staff and Rinnegan

1) Amaterasu:-

Obito has Left Rinnegan which technically is an EMS and casts Amaterasu. Amaterasu represents the Sun and thus Obito has a full circle staff representing the sun.

2) Tsukuyomi:-

Madara has Right Rinnegan which technically is an EMS and casts Tsukuyomi. Tsukuyomi represents the moon and thus madara has a semi-circle staff representing the moon.

3) Susanoo:-

It is only when the Left and Right Rinnegans are combined that the full power is unleashed and you get a full circle and semi-circle staff that the rikudo possess. Rikudo is the Heavenly Warrior and represents Susanoo who has attained balance between the Sun (Good) and the Moon (Evil).

Obito doesn't have Amaterastu, but Madara has Tsuyomiki since he is planning on casting it to everyone.

Since Obito's Rinnegan is basically Madara's , it makes sense to assume that the eye can cast Amaterasu even if Obito doesn't have it.

Well most people on the base assume that Tsukuyomi + Amaterasu = Susanoo. Even if it is not true, the symbolism presented in the OP actually hints that the statement Tsukuyomi + Amaterasu = Susanoo is actually true.

I thought it was obvious that both their staffs were incomplete because they were lacking pieces of the true sage, but this is a good way to describe it in detail. As to the MS abilities in particular, neither Madara nor Obito have ever shown access to either ability, so its not necessarily a prerequisite. Either way, whether they have it or not, the symbolism is still there and would not in anyway discount your theory. I think you are right, left Rinnegan gives the sage the sun half of the staff and the right gives him the moon half.
