I kind of get it, but I am not quite sure I get who.... or maybe that's not what it's for, yet.
So, Itachi controls madara to make tobi, who is mostly harmless because of the eye. However, after Itachi dies, then the control is released and Madara ... then decides to make it look like Obito was Tobi in order to make it so that no one suspects Madara is still alive?

So... was Obito a real person, or what was he off doing?

The problem is KA was never FULLY explained so for all we know once the caster died KA would wear off.

For example Technically if Naruto and Sasuke fought and KA Crow activated doesn't that mean Naruto is technically the caster? We dont even know if it would have actually worked on Sasuke.

More than likely I think it happened like this:

Once Itachi died KA wears off AND Tobi feels relieved and lowers his guard to go for Sasuke.
Tobi would go for Sasuke
Sasuke Amaterasu Tobi
IF that fails (Which it did)
Itachi knew Sasuke would want his eyes.
Once he got his eyes
KA Crow would affect Sasuke once he fought Naruto.


LOTS of contingency involved which is quite Genius of Itachi. However Itachi's excessive planning was part of the reason Tobi/Obito was also so well guarded and prepared. In essence Itachi helped keep Tobi/Obito on his toes to sharpen his own mental skill

i agree with everything except the naruto caster thing. It was itachi who programmed the eye. Naruto didn't even intend to use KA against edo itachi but since itachi programmed it so, it worked. And yes, it is questionable if it would have worked against sasuke. And it is left rather abstract. I mean itachi knew right away that KA was casted on him and he was freed from kabuto's control. When its said that one under its influence doesn't know it. Still kabuto's jutsu was expelled as well. Convenient wasn't it.

Why not use it on tobi or pain to make them kill all other akatsuki and lead the world towards peace. Its complicated jutsu i guess.

Couple theories I have for that is

1) Itachi didn't care for the world to end. He simply wanted to die by his brothers hands and rid him of Orochimaru.

2) Another theory is KA could have worn off long ago and Itachi used his own Genjutsu to control him. It would explain the release at death
but since we dont have a FULL description of KA mechanics its hard to say.
