Reincarnation in Naruto doesn't make sense since edo tensei is also possible.

I was wondering, how can you have reincarnation in Naruto when Edo tensei is used? When someone dies, they reincarnate. Therefore let us assume that they are alive in their 'new life' at the moment, how can edo tensei still work? How can they be brought back from the afterlife if their soul is already reborn into another? For example Chiyo would have to be a baby or some animal right now but how was she revived by kabuto? The same can be said about hashirama he would probably be in one of his later lives right now. Unless you are telling me that every edo tensei we have seen was killed as babies in their next lives in order for them to be reincarnated for the war.

Reincarnation is a figure of speech. They aren't actually born that same person again, more so they have similar characteristic

I don't think anyone else other then they can do it. Ashura Indra and Hagaromo were at extreme levels of power. They were offspring of the holy fruit.

^^^ This too. The reincarnation does not have to be that exact same personality. Just their ideals are influence by his never dying chakra.

It's not like their souls were reborn or something you have to assume it like this
Their will have been found in generations after them through their chakra and when they found someone suitable their chakra settled in that person. Because you see ashura was fighting with indra using Kyuubi and he is reincarnated in Naruto Kyuubi's jinchuriki Similarly Indra has to be reincarnated in someone with Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, Since no one else had chakra levels like them so no one else can reincarnate himself

Not the same person, just similar characteristics. I guess the chakra can exist at multiple times even if revived.

Hmm what r u bluffing about edo tensi is used to bring back the dead to the real world by using the living people the edo tensei is used by the dead persons dna so there wont be necessary to kill the babies every thing is possible in that naruto world

not everyone is reincarnated

Well idk about Naruto but as far as i know in Buddhism and Hinduism every living being is subjected to the cycles of reincarnation so i assumed it was like this here as well.

Reincarnation is a figure of speech. They aren't actually born that same person again, more so they have similar characteristic

Is there confirmation of the context in which 'reincarnated' is used? I am confused since based on what i read it seemed as though he was the past life of naruto.

I don't think anyone else other then they can do it. Ashura Indra and Hagaromo were at extreme levels of power. They were offspring of the holy fruit.

I don't think that has anything to do with reincarnation. It deals with the soul not the power of the individual.

It's not like their souls were reborn or something you have to assume it like this

I hope kishi clears this up next chapter because it is presented as if naruto is the actual reincarnation of the younger son. There hasn't been any panel in he last chapter to hint at an alternative meaning of 'reincarnation' unless there was a translation error.

Edo tensei places one's soul into a dead body. That is why the 4 hokages could not be reanimated because their souls were sealed in the reaper's belly. Edo tensei uses dna but it is not cloning it is bringing the dead back to life, but yes i agree anything is possible.

This is what I was thinking. It couldn't work just based on what Subject line stated.

The way I see it....... We already know Naruto's color is orange, let's say his soul is also orange. We also know that Ashura has basically the same chakra cloak Naruto has except with more arms and a different face, more importantly the same color. It would be safe to say his soul was also orange. So when they say reincarnated I don't quite see it as Ashuras soul is in Naruto... but more or less the type of soul they have is very similar (they both have orange energies)...wherever from the cosmos they draw there soul energy from they get it from the same place...... they where born from the same vibe

Another example would be to look at Sasuke, Orochimaru, and Madara if I had to give there souls a color it'd be purple (there usually have purple silhouettes when it comes to there vibes). They have been shown to be riencarnations of the Older Son. Also in terms of how they act and their ambitions... they are very similar, they get there soul energy from the same place.

Well, you can also ask yourself how could Naruto have talked to Minato in the Pein arc when Minato's Soul was sealed away. Minato sealed some of his and Kushina's chakra into Naruto which had their memories; so even though Minato's soul was gone, a part of it was still in Naruto. The Sage said his son's chakra transmigrated over time so a part of the son's chakra could have just been passed down is all.

Maybe the flow is like this:
Ashura->Hashirama->Naruto..
Indra->Madara->Sasuke...

it was just what i think...
